Maths expert ideally degree qualified $8/ hour at today's exchange rate that's £5.96 (assuming USD) which is less than minimum wage or should it be £?

Also it sounds suspiciously like some kind of dodgy student cheat site...

Thanks so much for letting us know, we'll check this out now to see what's happened. Blush

I assumed it had to be £8 an hour but even then, they're having a laugh. Not a single "expert" is going to do it for that price. I can get £35 an hour tutoring A level maths and I'm on the cheaper end around here. Even an unqualified student could get more than that; our college pays the A level students £10 per hour to give extra support to their GCSE retakers.

They're offering so ridiculously below the going rate it made me think it has to be some kind of scam. MN, do you actually verify who these people are at all?

Hi folks,

Just to let you know, we've passed this one over to our jobs team now.

LornaMumsnet · 25/09/2017 11:51

Hi all,

Thanks for pointing this out - we are following up with the employer to check this out now.

The applicants would also need to be quite poor at maths not to notice 😁.
