Just because I have seen quite a few people asking what it means recently.

otoh you are not going to stop 2nd timers being patronising to 1st timers

or 1st timers with 11 week olds handing out advice fresh from a nice book to mothers of grumpy 3 year olds

Twiglett · 05/03/2007 19:30

maybe we should add JSS too (Jaded with Subsequent Siblings Syndrome)

Jimjams2 · 05/03/2007 19:32

I will quite happily admit I was very PFB about ds1. I think it is a good descriptor of certain behaviour- the list below brought me right back, god I changed ds1 every 5 minutes (why why why?), I used to take out 2 changes of clothes in the most ridiulously oversized changing bag, alng with snacks, drinks, half the toy cupboard.

I don't think every 1st time mum is PFB about their child but I I am always secretly very impressed when I meet someone who isn't because I know what I was like, and having observed friends I think it is near universal.

NotanOtter · 05/03/2007 19:32

or NSS

Neglected subsequent siblings

Twiglett · 05/03/2007 19:34

or SWDIPTOC (Shit where did I put that other child syndrome)

AbbyMumsnet · 05/03/2007 19:37

Blu - if I might refer you to my earlier post of today...

SoupDragon · 05/03/2007 19:38

It's only derogatory if you haven't realised yet that your child will not suffer permanent trauma if they are taken out in a dirty babygro having had no breakfast. PFBs go out well fed and clean. NSCs are often dragged out in a hurry in grubby PJs to have breakfast when you arrive.

And it's not cheesey at all, quite the opposite.

AbbyMumsnet · 05/03/2007 19:39

Or GIWTTSALYAHBYAYASQIHNY syndrome, as suffered by my mum with regards to her third, oh so perfectly behaved, child. (God, I went to the shops and left you at home by yourself as you are so quiet I hardly notice you.)

SoupDragon · 05/03/2007 19:40

(take BabyDragon, a NSC of the 2nd degree. She was sick last night. Did I bath her before the school run? No, I mopped her down with a babywipe and thought "she'll do". I did change her PJs, obviously! PFB child would have been freshly bathed in warmed rainwater and dried by the flapping wings of a host of angels before venturing forth from the House of Dragon)

NotanOtter · 05/03/2007 19:41

Nsc makes for a nice kid imho!

filthymindedvixen · 05/03/2007 19:45

LOL at Neglected Subsequent Children

SoupDragon · 05/03/2007 19:48

PFBs and NSCs are all nice kids though, its not about them per se I myself am a NSC of the 2nd degree.

Jimjams2 · 05/03/2007 20:10

Twiglett I love your SWDIPTOC I got half way to Sainsbury's before realising I'd forgotten ds3 (!!!) And he is not quiet!! Quite the opposite.

AbbyMumsnet · 28/03/2007 17:46

Hi there, just to let you know that we've discussed this and it's a no. Sorry!

stoppinattwo · 28/03/2007 22:29

Abby I wanted STFU any chance???

It woulf reduce the need for unwanted swearing which means that i have more chance of using mn during owrks time as currently the blardy firewall is stopping every swear word under the blardy sun

OrvilleRedenbacher · 28/03/2007 22:30
