Hello all

As we're sure you've clocked, the exciting opportunity with NASA and the European Space Agency over on Mumsnet Jobs was not what it seemed. Apols to all who momentarily thought 'I could definitely do that - I could!'. One day, folks...

Gratifyingly, we had a brilliant call from a rather lovely prof from the Astrophysics department at a respected British university - she was very concerned that we hadn't thought it through .

You know what I loved most about it? The word 'successful' in the line: "The project follows Mumsnet's successful recruitment of spies for MI6 earlier this year."

For a split second I thought MN had inside knowledge about how the recruitment process had gone and that they knew for suresies that some MNers were now working as international superspies

MI6 did successfully recruit some MNERs, one brief was to infiltrate Mumsnet and report back of any breaches. Bevy don't be alarmed when the men in white coats turn up, I have asked them to treat you with kid gloves shame they don't always listen

I believed it for a moment, mostly in a "what a stupid idea"/"how incredibly reckless"/"they can't do that" sort of way... But in my defence, it was 2am & I was half asleep when I read it! After about 10 seconds I was trying to convince DH it was real & we should have another baby just because it could be my only opportunity to go to space! He didn't think it was a good idea.

I thought briefly that the spoof was the recipe for left-over-Easter-egg cakes.

I mean, who has left overs?

Has anyone tweeted Tim Peake for his views I tweet him hourly, am desperate for him to reply?

Please drop some more hints about the Prof from a respected University's Astrophysics Dept. DH works at such a place and we would love to know.

I bet the concerns were around a child's bone development in a weightless environment.

I wonder how far the sound of a baby crying travels through space at night?

I'm confused, did the professor realise it was an April Fools joke?
