Eh? It's a thread about politics - sure there were some pretty interesting views on it but nothing offensive, no swearing and nothing about Peter Andre.

The thread was in support of Tory policies which were voted for by a large section of the population

Why did you 'pop it down' or - in other words- ban it?

Crikey I've read far worse on Mumsnet which has been allowed to stand.

Hi Ubik1 - we removed the thread because of the suggestion that socialists don't love their children. We felt this was against the spirit of the site and had been posted to deliberately inflame.

But asking if pansexuals are into an illegal act (beastiality) is being curious

It was a very goady thread certainly and the op clearly wanted to provoke attack, presumably for fun, rather than actually engage in discussion. Suppose there was a thread entitled "how can anyone who isn't inherently evil vote conservative?" With an op which simply states that as tory policies are utterly selfish and focus on destroying the lives of the weakest members of society only those who are evil themselves could vote for them. Presumably such a thread would also be deleted.

That doesn't mean no threads about politics. We have loads of political threads. But we are grownups. That means being respectful that it is possible to hold different opinions to yourself with good will and integrity. You can seek to persuade perhaps by laying out facts and evidence that others may not be aware of. You can seek to understand where the other side is coming from and be open to altering your own position if you find additional evidence to be sufficiently compelling. Or you may never change your own mind - and that is fine. But what we don't do is focus on insulting the other side unconstructively. That's what the op wanted the deleted thread to be about.

I began a thread last night about the Chinese scientists being silenced by the CCP and it was taken down immediately. Really disappointed, don't Chinese children matter?

An AIBU "Do Tories love their children" would have been against the spirit of the site too

Any thread implying one party or one religion etc don't love their children is too vile to stay up
