Hi Folks,
Our new Talk app is now live in the App Store. If you used the old app and didn't delete it then it should auto-update (depending on your settings) but otherwise you can download it from the app store.

This is a obviously a first live version - we plan to keep updating it, adding new features and addressing any user issues, so all feedback is most welcome.

Plus, we are planning to build an Android version too in the next few months - thanks for your patience re that Android users - we'll keep you updated on the progress and will be looking for Android testers in due course.

Thanks MNerAnon we'll take a look there too

PeteTech · 29/09/2015 10:26

MNerAnon yes, the posting problems should be sorted now. Have asked the relevant person if the broken threads can possibly be cleared up, but you can safely ignore them for the time being.

PeteTech · 29/09/2015 10:52

We've looked into reporting posts this morning, and there is indeed a problem which is being looked at.

It's a server problem, so it'll be fixed without any update of the app required.

I'll post back here when it's fixed. Thanks very much for your patience in the mean time.

PeteTech · 29/09/2015 10:53

Calliou could you let me know your device model and the version of iOS that you're using? We haven't seen any other reports of this kind of issue, so we'll have to try and reproduce your problem here in the office. Thanks a lot.

PeteTech · 29/09/2015 11:26

Calliou thanks for the info. I will look into it.

If anyone else is an iOS 7 user and noticed similar problems to Calliou, would be very grateful to hear from you with your device model and iOS version.

@cellnev

As a previous poster said the search function isn't as good as the old one. If the word I'm trying to type doesn't match the suggested words I can't search for it. It's very frustrating!!!!

Hi there, just to clarify the search is currently only a topic search rather than advanced search. Advanced search is on the list for a future update.

JessicaMumsnet · 02/10/2015 17:41

Thanks MNerAnon! Yes pulling up will refresh the thread or active. Android development is in the pipeline but some way off for now.

JessicaMumsnet · 02/10/2015 17:42

Sorry or pulling down depending on your reading order

AmyGMumsnet · 12/10/2015 16:52

Hi prettybird

Thanks for flagging this. At present the Local Talk boards aren't linked to the app but we will definitely be adding Local Talk access at some point.
Of course we'll let you all know when that does happen!

@BitOutOfPractice

Hi MNTowers.

Um getting the 1001 error message A LOT when I press the "I'm on" tab! Either that or I only get the very last thread I've posted on

Is it just me? The app in general seems very glitchy today

Hello there,

Is this still happening for you? Would you mind letting us know what device you're using and what iOS version is possible? Thanks

PeteTech · 14/10/2015 09:36

BitOutOfPractice Thanks for the feedback - this error means your connection "timed out". It could be a drop in your 3G/4G connection, but we did have some backend issues that caused this to happen a few weeks ago, so I'll speak to our back end developers and see what they say.

FawnDrench Thanks, I'm glad you like it - sorry for the trouble with links. Do you recall any of the threads where you posted a link and then it didn't work after previewing? If you could point me in the direction of one (realise you can't post a link to it!) then I'll have a look.

PeteTech · 14/10/2015 16:50

Thanks *Fawn

Ok I can see why the link isn't working. It's got an extra bit on the end that shouldn't be there: /leak/.

I'm going to post the correct link below twice. Once with just the link, and once with the same text you used, just to double check that it works:

http://www.inhouserecipes.com/sour-curd-khatti-dahi-what-all-can-you-make/

these recipes

PeteTech · 14/10/2015 16:53

Ok that seemed to work, so I think it's simply a case that you'd copied the wrong link in when you made the post.

The correct link is:

www.inhouserecipes.com/sour-curd-khatti-dahi-what-all-can-you-make/

But in your post it has an extra bit on the end:

www.inhouserecipes.com/sour-curd-khatti-dahi-what-all-can-you-make/leak

Had you had any reason to write the word leak in the post? Wondering if it accidentally got added to the end when typing.

PeteTech · 15/10/2015 09:19

BitOutOfPractice Thanks for the extra info, will pass it on.

Groovee, Thisismyfirsttime I presume you were both testers? When you install a test app via Apple Test Flight, it expires after 30 days (it's an Apple restriction, nothing we can do about it I'm afraid). You'll have to install the released version from the App Store. Just open up the App Store, and search for Mumsnet. There's no need to delete the test version, the App Store should overwrite it and keep your favourite topics, read threads etc in tact.
