MNHQ - as the KP thread is not accepting messages, can you confirm you will be looking at wiltswonder15 who admitted namechanging to post goady shit.

Just deleting the thread gets rid of the comments but there seems to have been no need to post under a name change whilst being quite gleeful about upsetting several parents of DC with disabilities. So at best questionable behaviour.

Otherwise it's just a licence to be a twat isn't it? Being a twat is against the ethos of the site isn't it?

I'm just concerned that this pattern of namechanging goady posters just disappearing after a thread is deleted is quite a regular pattern now.
I hope those posting under name changes are being noted.

I knew the thread was dodgy but couldn't ignore the twattery.

I never can. Blush

ouryve · 27/01/2015 14:09

I missed the very end of the thread, after Wilts waded in (too busy baking cake) but thankfully, the deletion message on my "Threads I'm on" page simply says breaking talk guidelines, now.

SauvignonBlanche · 27/01/2015 14:11

Thanks fuck I avoided that, I saw 'KP' and 'benefits' and smelled shite straightaway.

I'm glad MN have changed that deletion message.

MrsVamos · 27/01/2015 14:14

Thank you for changing, RebeccaMN.

Still not quite accurate but better !

Is there not the option to leave the thread up but locked ? I do feel its time to show posters that certain behaviours will not be tolerated, and show who the gutless, gfs are ?

I suppose you take it down because quite rightly it riles people and then we have TAATs ?

Just a shame as it feels like the name changers/gfs/trolls win. Sad

We tend not to leave threads like that up because it glorifies the gfs, for want of a better word. It's not really something that we want to last forever in the MN archives, tbh.

MrsVamos · 27/01/2015 14:36

I get that, RebeccaMN.

Its just like teenage twats then isn't it ? An asbo is a 'badge of honour'. So must be an MN banning, or a thread being left showing twattishness.

What sorry, sad, empty little lives some must lead.

Britbird · 27/01/2015 14:40

Quotes from the thread have now appeared on the daily mails story. I reckon the op was a journalist.

morethanpotatoprints · 27/01/2015 15:10

Its a pity journalists can't do their own work? some people steal a living.

Pagwatch · 27/01/2015 15:57

Are any of my 'you cunting cowardly cunting cunt' posts on the mail site?
< innocent face>
I had my cunt-o-meter set to max

Thanks Rebecca.
I do agree with pp that MN is a bit too quick to present goady disabling wankery as if it were simply a spat. I think the intent is to be even handed but I hope this is something you ponder further.
I understand posters desire or need to name change. But I really do think that namechanging and then being incredibly insensitive (at best) on subjects such as disability should result in a pretty swift response from mnhq.

The benefit of the doubt is fine, indeed laudable. But you are placing the possibility that someone completely new is accidentally being a twat on the same level as half a dozen regular and identifiable posters being upset.
Being even handed can go to far. Telling someone with a shiny new name that they are being a shithead is not equal to upsetting half a dozen parent of children with disabilities. It just isn't.

You have loyal, reasonable longstanding posters who support each other and contribute to the site. A namechanging tossers need to be a name changing tosser should not be the primary thing here . It shouldn't.

I'd really like you to go so far as calling the behaviour out when it happens. Actually act upon this is my child rather than linking it.
C'mon . You know it's what you want really.

Pag

Can't bring myself to look at the DM site, so don't know.

Sorry.

Samcro · 27/01/2015 16:11

so now we have another GF who has started a thread. it is obvious it is a GF as they have picked.....disability again, today.
why can't we just have a GF topic and shove them all in there?

DinoMight · 27/01/2015 16:15

should we have a sub group for GFs who are also Journos or is that just par for the course do you think?

TheFairyCaravan · 27/01/2015 16:42

I reported that one about the disabled toilets, samcro. It was a wind up!

Afternoon folks, we've reason to think this OP was on a bit of a wind-up. We're going to delete the thread shortly.

That's the message that was posted on the thread. Is that OP going to "get their cards marked too?" Hmm

It's a bit depressing all round. To think the GF walks among us so to speak.

HowCanIMissYouIfYouWontGoAway · 27/01/2015 17:10

Really, mn should mark their cards with the words "piss off"

I am sick to bloody death of this game of "bash the disabled/unemployed/black/muslim..."

It's starting to feel like a party political broadcast on behalf of fucking ukip round here.

Samcro · 27/01/2015 18:55

so the gf is still posting?
so much for mn and the "this is my child"

fanjoforthemammaries7850 · 27/01/2015 19:04

Well I am glad I missed this one.

I agree with banning those who are deliberately goading to upset people.

Mintyy · 27/01/2015 21:45

Why can't you just ban someone as soon as they hide behind a n/c to post goady nonsense?

It should be a sackable offence! Don't be marking their cards or keeping a close eye on them.

On 99% of other forums (can't use word fora, sorry just can't) you wouldn't be allowed to instantly nc in the first place.

Samcro · 27/01/2015 21:55

surely trolling which is what is must be a ban-able offence.

Mintyy · 27/01/2015 22:08

trolling v difficult to prove.

name changing just to be a cunt not difficult to prove.

usualsuspect333 · 27/01/2015 22:08

I thought trolling was a bannable offence?

It's not really a 'posting style' to deliberately start a goady thread. It's trolling.

It Is pretty unpleasant.
Someone on a thread, cheerfully saying 'I name changed for this, haha, are you flirting, smarm -smug-wank' is still cheerfully posting on a ukip thread.

OP posts:
ChippingInLatteLover · 28/01/2015 08:39

Their original name & their name changing name should appear on their name bar. Their name changing facility locked. Name in a different colour.

Minimum.
