That's the slogan on the ad plus a picture of a child. Totally inappropriate.

Exactly, the sort of DCs who klick on it are the ones who need to see it.

I think all 8-12 yearolds ought to be asked, would you click on that?

If not why not? Aren't Willies funny, aren't you curious. Did you see the NSPCC logo.

Are they some one you trust. Now would you click on it?

If it wasn't a cartoon, but an Instargram post would you click.

There's a whole very valuable PHSE lesson, especially for immature Y5's just about to get their first phones.

My two are almost 14&17 and hardened cynics, if they click on it it will be because they wonder what the NSPCC are preaching about this time.

"have you seen alex's willy?"

I would not like my children to think it's okay to click on a link like that whatever the message behind it.

I've just invited my DD (12) to watch it. She is scarred for life.

Not. We thought it was very funny actually which is good because it made her realise how easy it is to only see a situation as funny when there is a darker situation to it. Opened a good conversation.

Humour in the face of serious subjects is always good.

Somehow, DD2, me and DH ended up discussing drugs last night. DD2 ended up going up to bed giggling and muttering.
"Only you two could turn a drugs talk into a Science Lesson!"

DH is a chemist, I'm a biochemist, DD1 picks up school science prizes. It's a long running joke that DD2 tries very hard not to absorb to many "Facts"

Brilliant campaigns.
Good, attention-grabbing title - got me clicking anyway and I will share with my kids tomorrow.

What's wrong with the word 'willy'? Nice friendly word for penis. They did not use 'cock' - now that would be wrong IMO.

This ad gets the point across a thousand times better than another chat with a preachy adult.

As a mother of three older teens, I just can't believe all of you think your kids would never click on anything with a mention of private parts in it.

YonicSleighdriver · 12/01/2015 21:30

I am going to watch it but it sounds like a good idea.

InfinitySeven · 12/01/2015 21:35

It's clickbait. It works, there are thousands of studies that will testify to that.

It's well targeted clickbait, in that the kids who click it are the ones that need the campaign, and the ones that don't are likely to already be aware.

It's okay being politically correct and very stiff upper lip, but that means the kids whose parents DON'T teach them this stuff miss out. And that's not fair.

It's good. Right level and an important message.

The Lucy one is a bit scarier, but it's also an important message - people you know online may not be who they say they are.

PinkSquash · 12/01/2015 21:50

I've just looked at it and it seems quite good, a good way to open the conversation around sharing anything online.
