Scrolling / animated adverts on MN...driving me mad!!

Are these scrolling or animated adverts new? They're driving me mad and are a real distraction.
If I can't figure out a way of stopping them moving they will put me off using the site Sad.
Not relaxing and not enjoyable at all.
