Changes in the night, la da di dee dee, changes in the night. have that going round my head. should be strangers but whatever. am i bovvered.

Hello. Feeling slightly hysterical due to lack of sleep. Now, mes cheries, in turn:

Californifrau, not so much offensive as lacking a certain modernity. It had to go.

Heavenis, you should be able to change the text size to suit you by doing View, Text Size in your browser. It wouldn't have changed for people on the standard setting (medium) I don't think. maybe yours in on something else.

LGJ, I'm intrigued by your space bar squashing. Could you possibly tell me what browser your are using. (If you are on Internet Explorer, click Help, About internet explorer and there should be a version number shown.)

Suzywong, if you're on a new-ish mac, you shouldn't see any difference really.

For the technos amongst you, all we've done is change the page template to use a style sheet instead of lots of html codes to create the page layout. This makes it easier to maintain the pages, and also speeds up downloads. It does mean however that we are slightly more at the mercy of browser quirlks, so we'd be interested to hear if anyone sees anything odd.

Love,
tech xx

Sorry - posted on the wrong thread. I'll look into putting a hard return before the name bar, but am off for now... zzzzzz.

tech · 01/06/2006 09:10

Did it used to have a space there? We can put one in I would think.

tech · 01/06/2006 09:19

I've put extra space in above the blue boxes. Is that what people are saying is squashed. I thought you meant the actual letters were running together (other thread).

Is it better now?

Text size - it's supposed to change if you change your text size preference. It's the only way partially sighted people (or just people who prefer not to get eyestrain) can adjust the text size to suit them. The old way the pages were laid out, Internet Explorer would just ignore that setting, which isn't really fair, as it meant people who need the bigger text can't get it.

Firefox does show the borders in a nicer way (they have the grey still). Firefox is generally more "standards compliant" than IE. Having said that, IE7 comes out soon which may be better than 6 in that respect.
