Could Finding A Nanny be updated?

Actually it would be better to remove the offending out of date item... the NannyTax calculator. I feel it gives the impression that agreeing a Net wage is the norm, where by it would be better in my view if Mumsnet supported the Lets Talk Gross campaign by BAPN. For years we have had the Net vs Gross discussion on the Childminders, Nannies, AuPairs talk board. Even NannyTax says to agree a Gross salary... NannyTax Net Wage Agreements.

If NannyTax are sponsoring the page in some way, perhaps they can put something else on the page rather than the calculator, or at least update the calculator every April.
If they are not sponsoring the page, maybe a link to MrAnchovy's calculator would be better?

Hi nannynick, we've removed the calculator from the relevant pages and instead added a link to the NannyTax parents tax calculator.

The calculator should have been updated but that was our fault not NannyTax's - a crucial email didn't get forwarded once we'd received the new data.

NannyTax has asked us to post the following response:

The Nannytax calculator is provided to help parents understand the full cost of employing a nanny. The reason why it is a net to total cost conversion is because many nanny agencies and nannies discuss salaries in net terms. So for this reason Nannytax believes providing a net to total cost conversion is more helpful to parents.
