Hq, are you going to archive all old threads, apart from Chat, forever?

Just wondering because I saw a thread titled "ELCS" in active convos tongiht. Op wants tips on her forthcoming elcs.

So, out of interest I searched for threads with elcs in the title for the past year only ... 166 came up.

Do you think people are looking at these? What about the elcs threads from the previous 9 years?

Just wondered what is the point in keeping it all? Newbies want to chat with their contemporaries, not look up all the old info from yonks ago.

Mmm,see I have loads of different stuff in my 'watch this thread' thingy -useful advice, tips etc so please, if you are going to do away with this and kill off the old threads, can you let us all know well in advance so I can print off the stuff I really want to keep? I would be devestated if I lost some of it-its like my reference library sort of Confused.

BonkeyMollocks · 26/07/2012 19:05

I'm with Mary.

After a certain a,punt of time they should 'lock' and no one able to post any more. But still searchable and readable. I also have a library in my watch list

*point

DifferentFutureAhead · 26/07/2012 19:07

What sort of things do you put in your watch list?! I always wondered what people used it for

Clicketyclack · 28/07/2012 01:46

Like for instance, a thread with excellent advice on dealing with a difficult teenager/thread with great links to recipes etc/threads dealing with a specific medical issue with some useful links in the thread/we were going to Harry Potter studios recently and I had 'filed' a thread with great tips and advice about it which I referred back to before going-you get the idea? I find it really useful for this sort of thing and also of course for its intended use-keeping an eye on a thread that really interests me so I can just click on 'watch' and catch up with it instantly.

Agree with Maryz, old threads should be Locked so they can be looked ay but not added to.

Derkyderpy · 30/07/2012 00:53
