A pen pal section? Following in from the request for stamps/letters there were quite a few who thought their children would like pen pals.

Good idea. I had loads of foreign penpals as a kid. My friends and I got them from an organisation called (IIRC) Internationa Penfriends, where for about 30 pence, you'd get the addresses of 4 or 5 kids also looking for penfriends.

I had penpals in France, Belgium, Norway and Sweden among others. My favourite was Eva Britt, a Swedish penpal from the age of 8-16 and she was great, I loved getting her letters with the Swedish stamps. Our correspondence ended when she left home at 16 to move in with her soldier boyfriend. Shock Grin

My friends DD is 9, I'll ask her if she'd like one.

Nice idea.
Any suggestions on how it could work being mindful of giving out your address to strangers on the internet?

From what I can see after a quick google, other pen pal introduction services do give out tge addresses. Basically by agreeing to become a penal you agree to your address being given out to x number of pen pals.
