Hey there, I am new to mumsnet and haven't really posted much on the forums because I don't understand your lingo. What does DC mean or DD or other things like this.

I have never spoken like this in my life, do you have a mumsnet dictionary please then i may join in. Can someone let me in on code.

Thanks

Zoe

Just bear in mind that what it doesn't say on there is to never use text-speak, hun, LOL or similar Grin

Up at the top, underneath the big black Mumsnet Talk it says Talk then a line of options in blue type. 2nd one in from the left is Acronyms which explains all of them.

It's not really a code, more of a shorthand so you aren't constantly typing out 'my husband' (DH) or 'my children' (DC).

DD and DS are dear/darling daughter or son, a number after it, eg ds1 or dd2 tells you if they are first or second born. Using the acronyms means you don't have to give up your anonymity by using your dcs names.

Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it Grin.

PS, you might want to choose a different user name if that is your real name, MN is a big place and very public so if you don't want people you know in RL (real life) to know who you are on here it might be best to change.
