I think it would be useful.

Hi Lynette: take a peek here

I was thinking more along the lines of "what is appropriate to take to take to a diner party, should I attend the funeral of next doors granny whom I've never met, and is a bottle of Cuvée Dom Perignon 2000 Vintage Champagne a suitable Christmas gift for my bin men" - type of thing.

A diner party - you mean a party in a bike cafe?

And there are lots of threads like this - mostly in chat strangely. Good housekeeping seems the natural home for questions of etiquette too.

But in answer to your questions: wine and flowers; no, send a card though and no, they prefer beer.

LynetteScavo · 01/08/2010 19:48

But what do I wear to said party in a diner?

See...there is a need for an etiquette section.

Leathers and heels. Avoid any large hoop earrings that may be confused with doughnuts

Oh, you mean Debrett's style?! Do people really want one? I'm sure if there's enough support for it we can think about it. PS Lucky Bin Men round your way!

No!!! we can't have the plebs learning proper form. How shall we mock them if they learn how to correctly hold their knives?

Or know which way to pass the port

I'd love it, but would mostly be doling out advice from Jane Austen's Guide to Good Manners, which renders the advice somewhat obsolete.

I thought AIBU and WWYD serve the purpose of an Etiquette topic. But I'd support a dedicated one nonetheless, I love totally bonkers etiquette conversations.

Hello, ladies. Would you care to walk this way?
