My friend has one that I think came from Habitat a very long time ago. I've checked ebay and been googling but the only one I've been able to find is one from Anthropologie which is far more than I want to spend and also has a rigid frame. My friend's one is floppy.

DD loves it to bits and can't wait to get out into the garden when we go to visit my friend.

Is this any good? Less than 24hrs to go though and it already has 9 bids.

Or this?

There are others listed on there as Mexican Hammock Chairs, but the seller's feedback is dire.

That second one is perfect, but sadly it's pick up only and I don't particularly want to do a minimum 4hr round trip to get it.

I had seen the first one, but it's not the floppy style, it's pretty though.

Have you thought about making one? Seriously - we used to do this in the early eighties when the macrame craze was sweeping the country (well, the N.E. of Scotland!). I was about 11 at the time and made all sorts of stuff - it's very easy. The pattern for the the hammock chair is here

You could arrange a courier to collect it. I think some of the people on the pushchair threads get things couriered (sp?) off ebay for about £10.00.

I'm fascinated by the thought of making one. I'm not sure I'd ever get around to it though.

I think I should probably hold off for a bit. I really can't remember what sort of trees there were in the new house, it would be annoying to buy one and then find that I have nowhere to hang it from.

More instructions on how to make one

I reckon you could have the start of a winter project - imagine how satisfying it will be when you settle into your macrame chair next summer! You can also pass it onto your children, in the same way that my mother has kindly passed on the macrame santa she made here. Scroll down the page and you'll see him - only mine has shorter legs because she ran out of red string.

I saw that JL one in my local Waitrose Belle, it's cute but all rigid, not floppy and snuggly for DD.

Maisie. My mother did go through a phase of making macrame hanging pot holders in the 70s. I wonder if I might be able to persuade her to make me one as a winter project.

You can stick a giant squishy cushion in it.
