Which sandwich toaster?

DH threw mine out as he said it was dangerous due to the short lead. This was a while ago so I am assuming there may have been improvements. I have the toaster bags from Lakeland but sometimes I want to make something that is a bit messier for them.

I got rid of mine and use my George Foreman lean mean whatsit instead. Makes lovely toasties.

I just use toaster bags.

I don't know, but I would think it's safer to have one with a short lead, in the same way as kettles usually have short leads - easy for a child to pull off a worksurface otherwise. Scalding hot cheese not a good look, I'd say.

I have a newish one (about a year old) and it has a short lead. no idea what make it was - cheap as chips from Tesco, think.

Good point. Kids are bigger and wouldn't be allowed near it anyway. I remember how much it hurts when you burn yourself on them.

Just asked dh and he said he threw it because it opened and the lid was vertical and wouldn't go back, so he thought it was bound to fall forward on your hands.
