Can anyone recommend a pram for a flat dweller

My niece and her DH live in a 2nd floor flat with no lift. Their 1st baby is due in 4 weeks. Can anyone recommend a pram/pushchair. She doesn't have her own car, and no storage space on ground floor.

Use a sling for the newborn stage and then a city mini from baby jogger? Thats what I did as the one hand fold makes it really easy to carry.

SIL has a Mamas and Papas Pramette and is the 4th floor. She says she is finding it ok to bring up and down stairs.
A Maclaren XT or XLR is suitable from birth and folds fairly compactly to carry or store but does not face the parents and might be a slightly bumpy ride for a newborn.

I have a Maclaren XT and have 3 flights of stairs to get it up/down - worked fine for us! (DD is now 20 months).

Definitely recommend a sling for as long as she can. Is there any way she could put a hook on the wall downstairs to hang the pram?

Thanks will look all these up. The sling option was my first thought too but I think someone has offered to buy a pram so they will be buying one.

I got two flights of stairs to climb, no car, half an hour walk to the shops and have a M&P Pulse, it folds flat and has a handle on the side, I'd say look in Argos or Tesco direct, M&P etc and make list based on how many KG the buggies are then go see if you can get your hands on em in somewhere like M&P or Mothercare.

can she talk to the neighbours?
when we lived in a ground floor flat the landing was slightly bigger than the landings at the other floors. I was happy to share the space with our neighbours pushchair wise.

Now I live on the third floor, pushchair lives in the car and I use the sling (ergo carrier) to get up and down the stairs.

Definitely a sling (a baby bjorn) and a maclaren - probably a techno, it's nice and light to carry up the stairs plus it won't take up too much room once it's folded in the flat.
