best foot file?

sandal wearing time approaches and my poor neglected feet are in a terrible state: rough skin, cracked heels ...ugh

in the past i've had a bliss diamancel foot file and these days i have a (barely used, obviously ) space nk one, which is fine, but not earth-shattering.

anyone discovered a miracle-working buffer thing that will banish the elephant feet for good??

i used two scholl products last week. haven't touched them for over a year.
i have a big scholl file, and then a exfoliater cream by scholl too, with brown grains in it. it all came off and they felt lovely. and believe me, they were BAD !!

camflower · 19/05/2010 19:23

thanks oblomov i'll give that a go

Ped Egg and flexitol.
I recently had massive swollen feet and when they went down was left with horrid dry skin and bits hanging off (sorry) and these sorted them out a treat.
Shame they are still covered in purple stretch marks though

TBH the best thing you can do (if you've got the cash to spare) is get it scraped off by a podiatrist (costs about £25) and then moisturise daily with vaseline and once a week go over with a foot file. I have terrible feet and this has been the best method by far

camflower · 19/05/2010 20:00

scraped? nooooooo! reminds me of being 13 and going to the chiropodist to have my verrucas scraped out [wince emoticon]

Oh it's not painfull at all. NO different to a foot file honest!

camperdahlia · 27/05/2010 17:33

This is my area of expertise.

Have tried PediEgg, Diamancel, Space NK, the lot. Hooves still rampant.

Until: M&S Miracle Foot File, £9.50. Seriously. The key is you use it on DRY feet. A mountain of white dust will fall from your heels, and the results are, as it says on the tin, miraculous.

If you want your feet truly returned to their infancy, and live in London, then go and have a medical pedicure at Margaret Dabbs. No pain at all, just like a regular pedicure, and your feet will be things of softness and beauty.

Promise.

I used a foot file one summer and really regretted it - it made more of a mess of my feet than previously!

camflower · 05/06/2010 09:45

thanks for the tips everyone. think i'll give the m&s one a go first: relatively cheap, and i'm a big fan of miracles

Microplane Foot File - it's fairly expensive but works amazingly well.

camperdahlia · 08/06/2010 11:32

camflower - remember to use it on dry feet!

PansAndNoodles · 08/06/2010 11:36

The best best thing I have ever tried is a Newtons Foot Sponge Brilliant and only a couple of quid Use that and slosh on lots of thick moisturiser overnight and some cotton socks and you'll have lovely tootsies.

Tesco's are at the moment selling the Scholl hard skin & Callus file for 80p and the Scholl cracked Heel Repair Cream halve price. Both fantastic products and brilliant prices

BeautyGu · 10/06/2010 14:01

Yes pedegg is brill - but lots of cream to go on afterwards is essential !

camflower · 21/06/2010 13:49

ok reporting back: combination of m&s miracle foot file and flexitol seems to be doing the trick
