broken spin cycle. Will it cost a lot to fix?

Is it likely to be a belt broken? Could it be more than the belt? Is it worth getting it looked at or should we just buy a second hand one for £50?

Sounds like the brushes have gone. Phone your local white goods repair man. I got my replaced for about £30 - good as new.

We are trying to get hold of 'washing machine pete' as he is locally known . But wondered if it is worth it.

Damn. I have an absolute ton of washing to do, I was really organised, for a change, clean house, half the washing done, another ton to do, and now have a huge load of sopping wet whites. And nowhere to hang them as it has just started raining!

ok, so mr washing machine man can come out and fix it for £35. He will charge us that for the call out and labour. Parts will be extra.

How much would brushes/belt cost? is this a good deal?

It might be just that the belt has slipped off and needs putting back on, that's what mine was. If it is, watch what he does so you know what to do if it happens again, even the non diyer's that we are have managed it when it went again. I just put slightly less in each time now.
