Where can I see one in RL? I have seen them on the internet and many of you have raved about them. They look great but I would really like to see one first.

well I saw them recently in a great wee shop in callendar, central scotland. Don't suppose that's any good for you?

My ds (aged 2 and 2 months) LOVED them. I'd say go for the bigger size.

madmarchhare · 01/08/2005 15:52

No, dont often get the chance to pop into central Scotlad!

Does anyone know who the manufacturer is?, then I could maybe check for stockists that way...

OP posts:
tassis · 01/08/2005 16:07

think hippychick is the manufacturer

the thing I hadn't appreciated until I saw them in RL is that they're spongy on top and not hard.

madmarchhare · 01/08/2005 19:44

Oooooooo, I really want to see now!

Well, I got mine from a shop in Letchworth, North Herts. Can't remember right now what it's called but it's in the arcade there and has a fantastic range of toys/baby stuff etc. Far better than your unimaginative Toys R Us selection .... and pretty good value too.

tarantula · 02/08/2005 09:44

Where abouts are you MMH? I had a look at one in a shop in Putney before buying ours. they are fab but would def recommend going for the bigger one.

madmarchhare · 02/08/2005 10:25

Im in Yorkshire.

I agree, DS has an 'apple pie' wooden spotty dog with bendy bits thats you pull along, its great.

OP posts:
tassis · 02/08/2005 12:40

I think you should just go for it. You know you want to!!

Louise1980 · 02/08/2005 12:42

Having a very bloned day but wots a wheely bug?

Sorry!!

madmarchhare · 02/08/2005 14:54

Tassis - I know!, eeerr, OK then. Am going to order one now.

Lou1980 - I cant do links, but its a ladybird on wheels really (big enough to ride on). The wheels go in all directions, a bit like a supermarket trolley I believe so is good for small spaces and smaller kids who havent quite got the knack of direction I imagine.

Oh no, the cheapest one I can find (bump to 3 - £39.95) is out of stock and it wont even let me add to basket and then wait for it to come in.

OP posts:
tassis · 02/08/2005 16:34

£45 and no P&P from uptofive.co.uk

(and you really should order from this lady because she's a small business in central scotland)

but that's the small size and thinkg and you really should consider the big one...

(listen to me, I WANT ONE TOO, but I'm way too skint to consder it...)

leahbump · 02/08/2005 17:59

sorry to butt in - we are looking at these at the mo- there's a good price on ebay, however got no idea which size to get...ds is fairly tall for 18 months and i'd rather it lasted longer iykwim.

Anyone??

Also off to see if i can find a link for the manufacturer!!

louli · 02/08/2005 18:08

I have seen the one on Great Little Trading Company (like the pig v. much) but I don't think they are not "wheely bugs". If anyone knows differently please let me know.

Charlee · 02/08/2005 18:10

Ds is one next mont do they do them in his size?

louli · 02/08/2005 18:11

They come in a small size (1-3) and a large presumably 2+

madmarchhare · 02/08/2005 18:21

Charlee, they do small @ 39cm(l) x 23(w) x 21 (h) which is aimed @ 1-3 years and large 46(l) x 28(w) x 25(h) which is aimed at 3-5.

I've wanted one since Christmas - dd was too small then, now I'm too skint.
They're fab though, aren't they?

Charlee · 02/08/2005 18:38

i just like them because there cute! do they actually have anyother qualities im not saying there not grat but i never actually looked into them

tassis · 02/08/2005 18:39

Ds tried them when he was 25 months and he much preferred the big one. I'd say it'd be worth the extra tenner in the long run.

Just to add, the shop where I bought mine ( a ladybird), also did bumble bees and cowhide versions too !
