Need small bed to fit tiny bedroom - help!

Hello,
Got up this morning and ds is covered in bruises. He sleeps in a bunk bed, and the safety rail had come away and it looks like he fell literally flat on his face.
So I need to replace it, ideally with two single beds. Trouble is that the bedroom is tiny and the space I can put beds in is only 6 x 6. Any ideas where I can buy two very small beds - or any other solution?

And the tiny beds in Ikea have fold up heads and footers to reduce the size again.

Another vote for Ikea - the Vikare bed is small, and depending how old he is you'll be able to leave the top and/or bottom sections folded up.

you can also get a great bed rail that goes across the side from ikea

I feel like I'm the world's expert on small beds as we have always had awkward bedroom sizes

Alternatively, you could get a new bed rail (we have one that goes under the mattress and then up and it can't fall off) and put him in the bottom bunk

Ive checked ikea and the width is 88cms - I wouldn't get two in.

if the width is 6ft (I think that's 183 cms?), then 88*2 is 176

there wouldn't be much space in between though

Kelly, going back to your original post, it seems the only reason you are looking is because of ds's accident and the guilt that may have induced. Why not just get the safety rail fixed?

Maybe in a L shape they would fit.

It is partly guilt, but I never did trust the bed, and so I feel guilty for letting them use it. I bought it new off webay and the safety rail was never that safe, and there is no way of fixing it. I did used to have a safety rail that went under the mattress, but that never helped neither. Maybe a new bunk bed would be a solution.

There's a really tiny bed in a shop near us, not sure of the dimensions, where abouts are you?

Why buy new beds, if you can't fix the safety rail or have lost trust in the bunkbed, why not remove it and put the mattresses on the floor? A little girl i know loves this arrangement, prefers the floor to her very nice [and costly] toddler bed.

Another thought ala handy andy[changing rooms] do you know any diyers, could you have a platform built in the room for your mattresses and then have storage underneath.

That is a really good idea - why didn't I think of that? I can stack them on top of each other during the day for space too. Thanks.
