jumperoo - something to replace??

Hi all

Just a quick question - our DS is nearly getting to big for his jumperoo, it has been one of the most valuable items we have ever purchased for our LO, but now it is getting to the stage where we need to look at something that is age, height and weight appropriate for him.

The jumperoo only goes up to 12kg, Is there anything else on the market, along the same sort of lines as a jumperoo, that will hold a bigger weight??

The jumperoo has been fab, especially when I am doing the hoovering, becuase I know our LO is safe and sound in one place, but it will soon have to be packed away.

Any product suggestions?

TIA

Well TBH once they start walking, a bouncer type thing doesn't really work because they would rather be off doing something else! So you need something like a rocker for the play value and a playpen for the staying put value.

Hi Bertiebotts

Thanks for this, I had a funny feeling people may say that .

He has a playpen already, thank goodness! I guess I wanted him to also have something that would bring him as much joy as the jumperoo does! He loves his jumperoo, and I don't know how he will feel when he cant go in it anymore

Would you possibly know of any good rockers at all?

TIA

btw if anyone can recomment something for after the zebra then please do!

My LO wasn't to keen on his jumperoo i think it was because he was a early walker he was much more intrested in exploring.

I used to put a big blanket on the floor and lots of building bricks, books etc when i was doing housework kept him occupied.

When they can stand up unaided but not walk, an "activity table" (put that into ebay and you get lots of different types) is fun for them, as they can use it to support themselves standing and do lots of different things on it. Obviously it doesn't "contain" them in the same way as the Jumperoo but on the plus side it doesn't take up so much room either!

As others have said, once they can walk they'll just want to follow you about/explore. Or use their own toy hoover/broom/dustpan etc while you do the housework!

Hi all! Awww I love the zebra, that is really smart!

Our little one, unfortunately for me when I want to do housework, doesn't like to stay still if left "uncontained" (gosh that sounds awful, saying it like that but I guess its for their own safety )

He loves to wander and grab things and such (as do most babies I am sure) I cant imagine that he would stay still for very long! He isn't quite walking - he will do it aided when we hold him up, but I guess that means that he wont be able to follow me round yet (oh and I sooooo love those mini vaccums etc! I will domesticate our little man yet! aha aha)

Bosomfor a pillow - you are sooo right there, I love the fact that we got a jumperoo, one of the best things we bought, but it does take up soooooo much space, so will be kinda glad and sad to pack the thing away!

We have a play pen, so I guess it is using that for now, thank you all for your suggestions, if any other peeps have some idea's please feel free to post, I will still be chencking this!

We got the mama and papa rocking lottie ladybird because of the enclosed seat it kept dd contained until she could climb off. It is a rocker and turns into a ride on too.
This followed the jumperoo which was much loved also.

She also liked the leapfrog activity table.

We now onto the wheelybug which she got for her 2nd birthday , they are great!!

My dd had the caterpilla M&P one, its still in her room and she loves it.

xkaylax · 01/04/2010 16:46
