I have on my list St Moritz tanning mousse and fake Bio-oil.

Any Poundland fans got some recommendations for me?

I don't think they sell St Moritz at Poundland, more likely Home Bargains or Quality Save.
I got some baking try liner sheet thingies from there which are good, no more manky baking trays.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 31/03/2010 10:27

Don't have any of those shops but someone said thay had St Moritz at their poundland. There is a TJ Hughes nearby, might they have it there?

Baking sheet liners..good, I could do with some of those.
Keep em coming...

I bought 40 hair bobbles yesterday.

They are good for house cleaning stuff etc

And have some good Easter things in too.

Pregnancy test any use to you?

Megglevache · 31/03/2010 10:32

The silicon bake stuff is pretty good and the liners. The ice cream choc cylinder cone things (lovely)Marco's I think.

We get the children's toothpaste from there 70p cheaper per tube.
Seed trays 99p for 5
Blackboards for the children's doors- very sturdy/good quality.
There stationery is really good especially the card/metallic/tissue paper and stickers.

I bought a fantastic book form there yesterday which has heaps of graphics you can make your own stickers/door handles etc- comes with a cd rom too all for 99p- it wil keep ds amused for hours.

Poundland

It depends what they have in, they are all different. bargins in mine aTM are Clairol hair dye, Johnsons self tan, Radox bath stuff. But my Tesco and Asda have both brought their Radox stuff down too.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 31/03/2010 10:44

Our have some interesting books. I bought a Cosmopolitan 'annual' which has extracts from 70's and 80's Cosmos - quite a laugh in a memory lane sort of way.

Also, ours had Lemony Snicket hardback books too.

Megglevache · 31/03/2010 10:53

Falafel, there diarrhoea treatment ShiteSTOP is good too. and only 99p

PuppyMonkey · 31/03/2010 10:55

No, Falafel the hair bobbles and cleaning stuff were meant to be separate suggestions, entirely unrelated. They refers to Poundland.

Same with the pregnancy test.

Hence the gap between sentences.

You understand?

Sorry for confusion.

FalafelAtYourFeet · 31/03/2010 10:58

sorry, misread!
Looks like some good stuff to be had. Are they cash only?

Megglevache · 31/03/2010 11:00

Min spend on cards £5 and cash...or kidneys on till 4.

Grandhighpoohba · 31/03/2010 11:01

Not convinced about the pregnancy tests - I bought two, both negative, turns out they were wrong, as confirmed by the expensive test I bought three weeks later.

Lino floor tiles - we did our kitchen floor for £18, looks absolutely fine.

Megglevache · 31/03/2010 11:10

£18!

MaMight · 31/03/2010 11:14

I bought packet of googly eyes from a pound shop recently and my children amused themselves all afternoon personifying everything in the house.

drloves8 · 31/03/2010 11:20

poundland has its own website ! ......if only it did online shopping !.
my friend bought the floor tiles too, looks better than mine (b&q).

FalafelAtYourFeet · 31/03/2010 16:52

Well....I went in and was totally overwhelmed by the smelly people crowding the aisles and the long queues, so it was a whistle stop trip. I managed to find:

Bio oil rip off. V small bottle (only 40ml) but I think still cheaper than the original so I bought it to try. Looking at the ingredients it doesn't seem to be the same at all and not as pleasant smelling (although not hideous, just not as nice as Bio-oil).

Small Milky Way and Maltesers Easter eggs 4 for £3, good for my friend's children.

Creme eggs (for replacement of dd's stash) 3 for a pound

Also bought 3 cans of fizzy Vimto for a pound at the till.

Was at the woman at the till though, who when my friend's ds asked 'why have some of those cans got white backgrounds', was told 'some of them are diet ones, sugar free'. Till girl pipes up 'yes and they are much more healthier for you'.

I have to confess I d and said 'or not, depending on your view of aspartame' primly. She just looked confused.

There looked to be some good stuff but I had to fight my way through crowds of people barging at me with baskets so I will be making a trip on another day when it is quieter.

I went to the 99p shop last week to stock up on pens for dc's and found silicon bakeware!!
I bought tons, and I love it!
So if you also have a 99p shop it might be worth popping in!

QOD · 03/04/2010 18:28

I went in a 99p store the other week and the signs on the shelfs said "everything 99p or less". But that meant I didn'tknow how much anything was - so I didn't buy anything.

snicker

I heart the pound store though

drloves8 · 07/04/2010 00:46

DH once went in to a 99p shop , it too had a "evertything for 99p" sign..... he handed the shop assistant a £1 and said is it ok if i just bring the van to the back door ?
The look on her face -> . i couldnt move for laughing.

kickassangel · 07/04/2010 01:11

last time i went to poundland, someone handed over 6 things, and then had to ask how much it would all cost (was all a pound each).
