Tumble dryer - Essential or not?

Just moved house - only got room for a slimline tumble dryer (and no outside wall so it would need to be a condensor). Is there such a thing? Do I need a tumble dryer?

We have a washer dryer. Would prefer seperates if we had the room. But we need a tumble dryer. We are not allowed to dry clothes outside on the balcony or terrace. Everything that can go in the tumble, does.

one of the best things I have ever bought.. We have since moved and at the moment it lives in the garage as we don't have room in the kitchen (need to redo the whole house so kitchen is staying put for the time being). Didn't realise how much I used it until I had to start trapsing outside to the garage every time. Obviously not used on days such as today - but otherwise use it almost daily.

Essential although we've just got rid of ours as there is just no room in kitchen. I know for a fact that come winter we'll end up getting one again.
I should change my name to Washerwoman as I seem to be putting in about 2-3 loads a day so definately will need to get a dryer

I would love to live without one, but during those times when we didnt (when ds1 was tiny, we got ours when he was five months) we got so sick of living in a house that doubled as a washing line and smelled damp that I don't think I could face it again!.

I had a washer/dryer for about 5 years and only used the tumble dryer twice. So when it packed in I never bothered with a new one, just a washing machine. But we do have a covered clothes line, gets all the wind but is proteced from rain. Am a huge fan of clothes that have dried outside and I personally think things keep their colour and shape better if you don't tumble them.

we have a tumble dryer but want to get rid of it to make more room in the kitchen - so for the past three weeks we've been trying not to use it - and we have had some bad weather days when i couldn't peg out so i used a large airer in our bedroom and left them on that all day and they dried.

so come winter i'll have the radiators - i say the other key thing is to keep on top of washing so yuo don't have piles of washing

Personally I have always had a tumble drier and I had one until January this year - then we got rid of our washer/drier and bought a new washing machine and I have never missed the drier. I bought one of those old fashioned rack things and the washing dries very quickly on them (even in winter).
