Oh yeah and they need to be tab topped. Maybe pale ble or yellow gingham...

Have tried M&S, Debenhams, Marks, GLTC (who we did get some great ones from before but only got navy blue or very girly ones in stock now), Blooming marvellous, Jojo...

So I've exhausted my ideas and wondered if anyone had any other inspiration, many thanks!

I'd buy some gingham and make them - tab tops are dead easy, and putting a lining on is no trouble

BariatricObama · 19/03/2010 20:26

you can buy the lining separately. tbh if they are tab topped the amount of light leaking in will make the blackout linings pointless.

Try the curtain superstores - the one near me sells the blackout lining with header tape, or will make up for you.
I just bought the lining and stiched it onto the top of my chosen curtains. We have blackout blinds too (ikea are the cheapest).

I've always used blackout blinds with curtains, even when they're blackout lined as the're never fully blacked out ime.

I tend to go for Next curtains, Ikea blinds.

Try making your own, or get someone like Kids Fabrics to make some for you. Have only bought fabric from them, but still great service.

I had some made by these people with tab tops and black-out lining. They were 130cm wide (each) and 160cm long and cost £166. I had them within a week of placing my order.

As I remember they got back to me with a quote within a day (or maybe even the same day) of me emailing with my window / pole dimensions.

Anyway, they were good and had lots of great fabrics

I have heard these are good. Used to be called baabaa blackout blind. Fixes directly to the window so cuts out all the light much better than curtains.

gingerbics,I have one of the blinds that tortoise links to for sale if you are interested.
Was bought for ds's window and no longer needed.

Good idea as it suckers to the actual window or frame and fits all windows. Let me know x
