I agree!
ds2 is nearly 5 and will be in th older boys section, which is fine if I want him to dress like snoop dog!!!!!

hunkermunker · 20/07/2005 09:21

Vile, isn't it?! Horrible colours - really dingy

Bet the girls' stuff's gorgeous though...

Nemo1977 · 20/07/2005 09:26

loulabelle222 · 20/07/2005 09:27

loulabelle222 · 20/07/2005 09:31

Nemo1977 · 20/07/2005 09:36

ds is only 21mths but dh has got him doing spiderman web shooting and singing superman etc as dh is one of those grown men turned adolescent..lol

jessicaandbumpsmummy · 20/07/2005 09:36

im not overly impressed with the girls stuff either.... a bit too patchwork quilt style for my liking!

vickiyumyum · 20/07/2005 10:03

i've been falling out of love with next since last seasons catalogue, it took a turn for the worse and nearly all the boys stuff has NEXT plastered all over it or little monster or even worse little geezer!
i'm returning this seasons copy of the next directory as i can't see my self ordering anything from it for any of us and so will just take to looking in the store occassionaly!

vickiyumyum · 20/07/2005 10:05

I feel like writing/sending an email in complaint. i want my three year old ds to look like a three yera old and not a mini hoody wearing lout (not that all hoody wearers are louts!!!)

what happened to the nice plain clothes, stripes, animals without slogans!

Nemo1977 · 20/07/2005 10:08

vicky i agree i hate the little geezer tops...arghhhhhhh

vickiyumyum · 20/07/2005 10:10

i know no offence meant to cockneys but come on little geezer!!!!

loulabelle222 · 20/07/2005 10:19

i agree its awful!!!! and they are all manky colours too where are the soft colours ? i couldnt see my ds in deep dark brown and dingy colours. its very true that next are trying to make kids look a lot older than they are.

OP posts:
Nemo1977 · 20/07/2005 10:22

dont even think its next in particular but more general shops making kids look older. The only one i find is still kids being kids is mothercare

Nbg · 20/07/2005 10:24

The slogan thing is getting worse. Marks and Spencers are getting bad for it as well now.

I remember when it used to be all aaron jumpers and dungarees.

loulabelle222 · 20/07/2005 10:28

i put my ds is aaron jumpers and dungarees. He is still my baby and i want him to dress like one! i only just started putting him in jeans because i thought they looked too old hehe! i'm a mad one!

vickiyumyum · 20/07/2005 10:32

monsoon is my favourite at the moment for ds2 but the sizes come up really small!

they have pictures on but no slogans, got him a lovely t-shirt with a dinosaur on and one with a fire engine.

even the jeans have lovely cars and trucks on them.

but they are so expensive which is why i used to like next as it was very reasonable.

Totally agree with the Next complaints - the boys' clothes are so drab and samey, in fact most shops have no choice when it comes to boys' clothes (must admit that ds1 is this very minute wearing a Little Geezer top).

Baby boys' clothes are a different matter, but as soon as they turn one it seems as though childhood is over.

gingernut · 20/07/2005 12:08

Absolutely agree about Next - used to like some of their stuff but somehow each year they manage to make it even more drab.

I usually go to H&M for some nice bright stuff but you have do to sift through a lot of dross to find the good stuff there.

Monsoon is gorgeous but I'm not paying those prices. ds1 is 3.5 now and pretty hard on his clothes, it would just be daft (e.g. he climbs trees and tears things, or crawls around in the garden at nursery playing aliens' or pirates' or something similar (!) and wears out the knees).

BethAndHerBrood · 20/07/2005 13:38

So can you not order summer stuff online now??

I wanted a cardi!!!!

oliveoil · 20/07/2005 13:40

Beth+Brood - is your dh called RB?
