Mamas and Papas Prams

Hi all! Am looking for a pram for my baby, due in 6 weeks time, and love the M&P ones. Expensive, I know, but have an almost irrational need for one.
Can anyone advise me on the best chassis to choose, though, as am very confused?! Basically, I already have a 1yr old and have bought a tandem, but there will be days when I'm lucky enough to be able to leave her with family so dh and I can spend time together and with newby when she arrives. The pram would be mostly used for shopping trips and walks to the shops and in the park. All suggestions will be gratefully received.
Also, if anyone knows of another good make of pram, might be able to wean myself off M&P. Unless there's a good discount shop out there that I haven't discovered yet, I'm going to have to do lots of pleading with dh to justify the cost!

dont get one with big wheels - I got a sherpa one - dont think they nake them now and it was too wide for doorways. Drove me nuts

I'd go for the MPX chassis Froggy.

We've had both a 'big and bouncy' M&P one and a freedom argento. The 'big & bouncy' one was great for DD when she was tiny but the wheels just proved so impractical for steering purposes and made it a much larger pram to get in the boot of our car (which was a new VW Golf at the time). We swapped it for the argento-style one when DD was 4 months old (she is now 10 months).

On the other hand, I felt that the freedom argento didn't offer enough in the way of suspension. I agree that the MPX is the best chassis as the wheels swivel but are big enough to absorb the changes in surface. They look great too ! My neighbour who had her DD 8 weeks ago has a M&P Freestyler Travel System (MPX wheels) and loves it !

I have the MPX chassis. I bought it on its own (v.extravagent) after John Lewis lent me one after the brake broke on the smaller chassis that came with my 3-in-1 travel system. Having found I could get the MPX in my car, a Golf, the shopping & paraphenalia capacity was too good to go back to the smaller one. It is a bit of wriggle getting it in the car but worth it to be able to shove so much stuff underneath.

Hi I have brought an Argento as this seemed the most sensible it is lighter than the others, folds -up easy and is great for travellers like me. However, I have not tried with baby as she is due in 3 weeks!. I got mine from babysMart.co.uk also look at kiddicare.co.uk as they were £50 cheaper than in the shops and I was able to buy the posh footmuff as well! They delivered within the week where as the shops told me to order 6-8 weeks before. Good luck!
