We are looking to buy a scenic or nissan tino (or similar - taller than usual but usual length). Just interested in how safe they are 'cos there was some bad press about safety of proper people carriers a year or so ago. Any ideas?

Oooh Claire, I've wanted a Smart ever since they first came out but sadly I've always needed more than 2 seats

We've got a Picasso and it's covered in scratches because I couldn't park the damn thing. Luckily p scratched it first! I like it but I agree it's not very solid - I think it's even made of plastic, but I may be wrong, but after having a Peugeot 106 it feels like heaven to us !

Oh Soupdragon I hate that card - I never have anywhere to put it. And what I failed to mention in my previous smug post is that the Laguna has not proved all that reliable particularly in the ignition/electrics/immobiliser area. It needs to be safe if its going to stop in the outside lane of a dual carriageway for no apparent reason.

I always "lose" mine as it's so thin I can't easily feel it in my pocket!! Incidentally, they don't wash or tumble dry very well...

Touch wood, ours has been very reliable. CD changer went wrong but that's it. It's had 4 Urgent Safety Recalls though...

Bozza · 25/06/2003 11:14

We haven't had any recalls - but it is a 2002 so maybe they ironed out the problems (I hope!).

Dannie, that is a good reason. But sometimes the extra space in the back swings me back to the Picasso. I can take 3 adults in comfort, or 2 baby seats and adult without squshing.
