Pram solution needed for 22mth old and new born....

I'm getting desperate, having checked out all the shops I still haven't seen anything that comes close to being a suitable solution. I do loads of walking and with the baby due in September I'm panicking that I'll be housebound with a newborn.

The problem I'm having is finding a pushchair light enough (as I'm quite weak and short 5'3'') but also really cosy and secure for a newborn. Ideally I'd like a proper pram for the new baby but my ds is still too young to walk, he also still sleeps in the pushchair.

I have seen the first wheels twin elite which has a carry cot attachment but it is really expensive, has anyone else seen anything similar or able make a recommendation.

I know... I've seen two 3 wheelers now that have an carrycot that can be added onto one of the seats, this is perfect for me because I really want something like a 'proper' pram for the newborn. But... they are both really expensive:

Mountain Buggy Urban Double with Carrycot option 659.00
First Wheels Twin Elite with carry cot - 374.00 !!!

my budget is about 200. The only close contenders so far are:

Out and about nipper (All Terrain style)254.00
Zooper (4 wheels side by side but quite cosy looking and cheap) 160.00
Cosatto Duet Lite (similar to the marcosky) 159.99

I've got a Landrover double with a cot-seat attatchment and all the waterproof covers etc. if you're interested. It cost well over £500 but i'd sell it for around £200, they don't make them any more but it's very light and easy to push. I'm only 5'2"!! i'll attempt my first link to a picture!!

Landrover pushchair

I'm in London, I'm not sure how i'd go about posting it!!

Doddle - This looks a really nice ATP, how did you find the carrycot for the newborn - can you easily detach it without disturbing the baby?? Also does the toddler seat recline much - as ds1 still sleeps when we're on long walks. Its certainly light compared to other ATP's how did you find it around town etc was it easy to manouver...

I maybe interested if you still want to sell, but at the moment I'd mostly like to pick your brains about how you used it and if you'd buy it again... do you think you'd go for the ATP with carrycot again or something like the marcosky??

Thanks for your post you're the first person I've spoke to whos had this type of double buggy.

Hi! Raggydoll.

I loved the landrover, but its major downside is that when it has the cotseat in it, the cotseat stays in!! You can't use it as a carrycot.

The normal seat only has one position but DS1 used to sleep happily in it, and be awake happily in it. I found it really easy to push, I had a c-section with DS2 so that was my main criteria. We used it mainly for walking, both off road and around town. It's rather large for small shops but Tescos was fine. I never tried to take it on a bus.

But I did love using it, I found it so light, it was a shock pushing an umbrella fold afterwards as I'd forgotten you had to think about kerbs!!

If there's anything else you want to know, just ask!! I promise I won't do a sales pitch

have just bought a Jane powertwin (£349) for my 22mth and soon to be new baby. My freind has the normal Jane 3 wheeler and raves about it and the wheel base of the powertwin is no longer than the single. Also although it looks heavy on paper the wheels are so good that it glides - we tried it out with 2 21mth olds! Hope this helps

marne, the p+t can be used for nyears as it becomes a single as well as a double.

I have the nipper double, it is excellent very light to push, and you can get to both children easily.
I had a tandem (toddler in front of the baby) and I found it a nightmare, and used it about twice.
It was difficult to get up kerbs all the wieght is at the front
The baby seemed cramped in the back (he was newborn) would never have been comfortable when he was older.
Toddler in front could not sleep comfortably his head kept flopping as the seat could not recline enough because of seat behind
hope this helps

After reading all the reviews I purchased a 360 out & about double nipper. It was ok, the seats don't seem to hold in the ideal position when upright or flat. My main issue is after five uses, we are talking short local trips, the front wheel fell off. At
the end of each metal arm on the front fork there are two identical
black plastic housings that hold each side of the front wheel axel.
One of these broke into three bits: two fell off, with the
rest remaining on the metal arm of the fork. The overall piece itself is
beyond repair.
Not a great situation to be in when out with newborn & toddler!
So I wouldn't recommend this double buggy,
