Hi all, I'm new to this, on mat leave at the moment with my second and just bought a lap top so I can communicate...anyway, my 2 year old is driving me crazy helping herself to stuff out of the fridge. I bought an appliance lock from Lindam which she took one look at, peeled off and threw on the floor. Any advice please? I have tried telling her off but am more interested in avoiding the tantrum in the first place. Thanks

This is one of those times when you need to teach the child not to touch, as when they try to touch the TV/DVD/plug/insert here

So you say No firmly, then move them right away, into another room if you like

repeat for about 400 times

being realistic, you cannot avoid a tantrum about this so roll with it and good luck

ok that's good advice for anyone, but all the same, can anyone recommend a lock that actually works please?

Great! I'll just have to stop buying cheese then. Maybe if I just keep it full of fruit and broccoli....

I've got several of these locks on cupboards and the fridge Fridge Lock. They also sell similar ones in Mothercare. The lock is quite high up on the fridge as it is a tall one and I find it quite awkward to open so 3.5 yr old DD has no hope! It hasn't worked itself loose yet and has been on the fridge for well over a year.
