Does anyone in the Central Scotland Area have a Tumble Dryer they wanna sell?
M2T · 16/06/2003 16:38
I have come to the decision that we really need a tumble dryer!
However - our TV broke 3 weeks ago and will need replaced and our shower broke yesterday (very old and irrepairable). So I was wondering if anyone had an old one we could buy until we save up enough for a new one??
In fact.... does anyone have an electric shower?
Why do these things always happen at once. We need all of our money for the wedding, but I can't live without a shower!

my washers knackered and i have to go to the launderette - so how about you wash'em and i will dry 'em?
dont want to alarm you but dont these things come in threes?

Have you tried ebay and/or loot. They're both great places to look for used things.

Good idea Custy!
Thanks SofiaAmes.... that was my next question! Are there any good websites apart from those, where you can buy NEW products at a discount? I'm such a cheapskate...... but I AM Scottish.

you could always rent one. My washer broke last week too, had it fixed yeaterday and there was a sock stuck in the pump.
M2T · 17/06/2003 11:49
I never thought of that! DOH! That would mean that whilst I save for a new one I don't have to worry about repairs etc.
How much are they to rent though?
JanZ · 17/06/2003 12:15
We have an old one that we could give you. HOWEVER, the reason we have it is that it was in the house when we moved in, as our predecessor couldn't get it out of the attic room it was in.
Dh does want to get rid of it though - I'll ask him tongiht what he thinks would be involved in getting it out of the room. We might need to take the door out of its frame.

got a leaflet through the door for a rent washer - didnt look at dryers - the washers were cheapest 2.50 pw
i would imagine dryers cheaper - worth a search on the internet maybe

m2t, you can always pretend to be a builder and get places like BDC to quote you trade prices. I don't know about up there, but in London there are quite a few places that sell "damaged" appliances that are perfectly good, but have a dent or something in the side. John Lewis often sells floor models at a reduced price.

The cheapest new tumble drier on Empire Direct is £90.58 plus (I assume) delivery.
