Muzzy language learning

Does anyone have any experience of the Muzzy system? It sounds great but does it work? I am bilingual as I grew up in Germany, so I could assist DS easily. I think having the additional language is really helpful I just don't know how to go about teaching it. DS is 15 months old btw.

I've got the French Muzzy and it's ok but I wasn't impressed that the monster on it (Muzzy) doesn't even speak clearly. He speaks with a sort of monster voice (hard to explain) which doesn't really help at all. If you are bilingual I wouldn't have thought you would need to formally teach German to your DS at all. Just talk to him in German.

I have the French muzzy on dvd, and agree that the sound quality is very very poor. I even had to check in the book that comes with it, to work out what they're saying half the time.
Having said that, my DS (5) thought is was great initially and it does seem to give him a better accent than my rubbish accent (learnt french as school).
Don't agree with all the hard sell that Muzzy use - they have you thinking your child will be fluent in a few months!

I got the Spanish Muzzy and to be honest, fairly unimpressed. Ds1 has learned far more Spanish off Dora the Explorer. The DVD is old fashioned and as others have said, the sound quality isn't great.

To be fair, ds1 does enjoy it - but if I were to buy again then I'd get it second hand cheaply or look for a cheaper kid's learning dvd, because it really isn't worth the cost.
