Nursery Bedding that isn't pink, blue or dull

I am trying to find something bright in primary colours for a girl or boy and am getting quite bored with all the pink, blue, neutral colours.

I would like something bright in the primary colours - something stimulating but the best I can find is wishy washy lemons, greens and occasionally orange.

I am loving the red cars on bright blue backgrounds but know that this is just because they are bright and being a bit of a tomboy when younger I am quite happy to kit out the nursery in this but DH pointed out that we dont want people thinking - oh they wanted a boy then if we have a girl and the room is decorated in cars, tractors and boats.

If anyone can point us in the direction of some bright and I mean primary colours - red, blue, yellow nursery bedding it would be appreciated - or I shall have to get sewing!

Do you mean bedding for the cot?

You don't really need any. Just get a fitted sheet for the cot and use a grobag. You can then use any bright fabric for the curtains. Cot bumpers and pillows aren't recommended for babies.

Your baby should sleep in your room for the first 6 months so you can wait until the baby is born to choose the bedding.

I agree with llareggub. For the baby use a grobag (they come in brilliant colours)

Ikea has fantastic, Marimekko style fabric that you can use to make curtains, bedspread etc here

I also like bedding and curtains from Zara Home kids.

If you have a small room it can get overwhelming once all the toys and assorted crap fills it up. You may wish you had an inoffensive colour scheme for part of it

You don't need bedding for a baby.

When dd outgrew grobags we bought fabric and made our own and also had a gift of some bedding from Ikea this sort of thing, nice and bright.

Reasonably bright, but has a white background so probably not what you want

Olli and Lime are again probably not what you want, but I love their designs.

Agree with the others, though -- we just used plain white sheets etc. and then grobags. You can't actually use the lovely quilts and pillows until they are a year old anyway.

But I do like fantasy bedding shopping...

Get some nice sheets - I got some lovely fun at the zoo ones from mothercare with rainbow stripes on - not being sold anymore but occasionally come up on ebay. And grobags/blankets are easy to find in nice bright colours. (Again try ebay) Or you could buy everything in white and dye it.

When DS got to the age of duvets and pillows I love Ikea stuff. We have got the set linked to earlier in the thread.

I have been looking on ebay now for a few nice bits - Jungle/zoo/wildlife/rainforest theme is always good to search for as they tend to be nice bright things and are unisex.

Awful picture but if you look at their other items I would guess it's from the same range

Cotbed size

Not sure what size these are, don't think they can be cot and cotbed compatible.

Flat sheets but comes with a nice blanket

Love this grobag

Nice bright spotty but flat sheet

Another flat one

Cotbed size

Ooh some nice bright ones in Mothercare at the mo, on special offer as well - Moose and Bird and Peek A Boo (those have flowers on though so may be more suited to a girl)
