watered down pure juice..my two dears drink gallons. so they have two cups ,one for lunch and one for snacks

LIZS · 20/06/2005 21:06

Another just water in the Sigg here.

flobbleflobble · 20/06/2005 21:08

Sigg bottles cost as much as about 100 cartons - hard to save much cash with that, even if you put water inside, isn't it? And wouldn't they break/get lost/leak/be nicked before you got your money back?

nutcracker · 20/06/2005 21:13

Maybe but it's less hassle too.

aloadoffishyballs · 20/06/2005 21:16

they are so pretty thouhg
ntyy get our little gal the spotty one

LIZS · 20/06/2005 21:21

ff, maybe but they are pretty indestructible. Also less wastage as they can sip as much or little, as and when, rather than have to finish the whole carton or throw away.

flobbleflobble · 20/06/2005 21:38

If they never leak and are not impossible to clean unless you have a dishwasher then I could be tempted to try the Sigg way...

aloadoffishyballs · 20/06/2005 21:38

thts right
and are so pretty

OK, I just tried to order but the mumsnet discount wouldn't work

zebraZ · 20/06/2005 22:19

I have a small plastic bottle (think it originally contained water) which is half-crushed down (like I was going to compress it to recycle it). I fill this with fruit juice, fit it into lunchbox, send it in with DS (who also has a water bottle to drink from in class).

Wash the half-crushed bottle every night & reuse. Costs me almost nothing, it hasn't ever leaked. Could easily replace it but have been using it most days for 6 months without problems. Those cartons are really expensive.

Janh · 20/06/2005 22:30

My little prince gets a carton of apple juice from Lidl - about 13p. Really lavish, we are.

assumedname · 20/06/2005 22:43

No, bulk buy fruitshoots from Makro.

Janh - do Lidl sell orange juice cartons as well? Never noticed them in there.

Janh · 20/06/2005 22:45

Yes, an! In my store they're usually on the R as you go in - near the start anyway, with all the other juices. About 65p for 5.

invisiblegirl · 20/06/2005 22:50

ds has water fountains at school but also takes a carton of Tesco apple or orange juice each day

jangly · 20/06/2005 23:10

Innit funny how you can spot a thread of Cod's just by the title line. I knew this one was her's!

Not just the spelling. Something else.

RTKangaMummy · 20/06/2005 23:25

flobbleflobble send them an email and it will be sorted

Thanks Janh - will look out for them today.

Enid · 21/06/2005 09:53

dd1's friend has a bottle of Evian every day

now that is extravagant IMO

fishfinger · 21/06/2005 09:53

not a facial atomiser?
bet its tap water really

Kelly1978 · 21/06/2005 10:05

Dd has a flask for lunchtime, but has to take a throwaway drink for mid morning. Since allt he other kids have them, I don't have lot of choice. I try to get them for about 20p each, whatever is on offer or cheapest where we get the shopping.

zebraZ · 21/06/2005 10:56

The little antiseptic cartons are also very unfriendly environmentally (impossible to reuse or recycle). Am surprised by Kelly1978's school policy. I would protest about it.

Enid · 21/06/2005 11:01

no its a fresh bottle. Actually itsn ot Evian its another one that comes in 'kid friendly' bottles. I have seen the packs at the mums house.
