Hmmm, I saw a nice Bissell one advertised in a mag. We could really do with something to clean carpets....

ks has one too, although not a qtech - her MIL has one of those and it's the best apparently, but the others are OK. There is the Morphy Richards which is much cheaper, I nearly bought one recently and then bottled out on the grounds that we currently have 4 vacs (although only one of them is really any good )

Well you could ask your next-door neighbour to pop round and get it out for you if it's too much?

Yeah but its cordless, saves all the bending down with a dustpan and brush, especially with a ds like mine who seems to have a crumb attraction

def recommend GTech - they do a smaller version now. I've got the original, it's great, even picks up pens, pencils and crayons without breaking them.

Do you leave it on charge all the time you're not using it, Ailsa? Or does that make the capacity run down like rechargeable batteries?

That little one would suit me with the amount of housework I do! Does it have the same power as the bigger ones, just less time?

Janh,

I don't leave mine on charge all the time. Just checked the website FAQ

Q: Can I leave the sweeper on charge constantly?
A: This is not recommended, as it will eventually cause damage to the battery pack and the sweeper?s performance. It is also a good idea to run the sweeper completely flat once a month and then charge it for 20 hours. This will ensure ultimate performance.

Thank you, Ailsa!

I think I'm going to have to get one, if only to stop me leaving the hoover lying around all day on the off-chance I might get a rush of blood to the head and plug it in.
