Nice but "unisex" changing bag to hang on pushchair handles?

We have the Avent backpack thingy but it's a bit big and bulky - OK for whole days out but I'm looking for something just for trips to the shops etc, that I don't have to carry on my back. Has to be suitable for DH to use but preferably not too ugly.

Why not just stick nappy and wipes in the buggy basket and use the pink bit of yr newspaper as a changing mat -- you can chuck it in bin afterwards?
Can you tell I am a bit of a tightwad.

franch · 04/06/2005 19:30

Don't read newspapers - maybe I'm an even tighterwad

hunkermunker · 04/06/2005 19:35

What sort of buggy handles do you have? An unbroken bar or separate handles?

franch · 11/06/2005 20:26

sorry not to have replied to these replies earlier. Hunker - 2 separate handles. Having a look at the Bruin, Samsonite & Kipling bags right now. Lunavix, the Samsonite hangs on stroller handles OK does it?

Well I'm probably not ready to downsize yet - DD is 17m but we have another DD on the way in Sept so I'll have to be able to carry stuff for both. Really don't want a rucksack this time as my back can't take it - need to hang something off the handles and my Avent backpack just pings open if I do this (also sticks out too far behind the stroller). I'm also not that good at travelling light

Hi Franch, I use a rucksack looped onto the two handles or just in the tray below the seat. On shorter trips I use my handbag - a rucksack style by Longchamp - fits loads in & imho looks good.

MarsLady · 11/06/2005 20:55

did you like my nappy bag Franch? The one that looks like a large tan bag?

hoxtonchick · 11/06/2005 21:06

hmmm, don't carry anything around for ds as he's 3 & a bit now. when new baby's born in a couple of weeks i was just intending to use one of my bigger handbags & stick nappies/wipes in it. am going to breastfeed so no need for bottles. i suppose it does get harder as they get bigger, but travelling light is definitely the way forward.

Davros · 12/06/2005 08:46

I could sell my Kipling SuperNanny, don't use it any more and won't be having any more kids........ its the blue/denim-ish colour.

Mars - yes I do, I assumed it was very expensive! Where's it from?

Haven't decided about Kipling vs Samsonite yet Davros but how much would you want for your Kipling?

The problem isn't the size of the bag I have, beetroot, it's the shape and awkwardness of it. I find I do carry quite a lot in my changing bag - my own stuff as well as DD's - I was always a big handbag person - we're all different

It's from Cuchicoo, but there website only shows the 2003 collection so I don't know if they are still trading.

Hmmmmmm will have to give your bag problem some thought.

How did R's big day go?

franch · 12/06/2005 16:38

She was a star, of course. And she finally started walking properly yesterday - at her aunty's, the little scamp!

How are the lovely DTs?

Does the Kipling bag have any external pockets for mobile phone etc.? Or even a big front pocket? Or are all the pockets inside? Am looking on ebags.co.uk but can't work it out. I like the look of the Kipling and it's probably about the right size but the Samsonite may be more practical - I like compartments
