Help please! Can I get this sort of baby carrier in the UK?

I want to get a portable moses baskety type thing for out and about - like the carrier things that come with a Phil and Ted double buggy only ideally more easy to roll up and stick under my Maclaren when not in use. The "Lillebaby Euro Tote www.mystrollers.com/shop/product.aspx?sku=L1101-1" looks great but is only available abroad. Anyone come across anything similar over here?

Ah, now that looks good! Thank you. Other thing i found myself wondering about in the middle of the night is just a basket like what they used to put us in in the seventies. Kind of like a moses but floppier.

That nap & sac one that mamadiva linked to looks about the best for your requirements I reckon.

The pop-up one is dinner plate-sized when in the bag. It could easily go in the basket of the maclaren.

I had a Graco one for DD2 and she was in it until about 3 months. Clips onto D rings on pushchairs so sometimes I put it on my double nipper so I could put her in and out of the pushchair asleep.

Weirdly (call it not being able to have anymore myself!) I was thinking about this last night

I like the bag one mama diva linked to but it looks bulky?
Depending on how long the samsonite popup ones are (ie how old a baby can still fit in one comfortably) I would go for one of those plus a lovely blanket

That way you get two products in one, the place to sleep and the gorgeous blanket!
Plus the popup ones are cheap on ebay

The Pop-Up cot was excellent...we used it where ever we went. It does fold down to the size of a dinner plate and is very light. We are using it again this time instead of a moses basket. It lasted a good 9months for DD and then we bought the pop-up bubble cot. It was very easy to set up and cart to friend's houses etc. For over night stays we added in a sheepskin for a bit of extra protection.

I also had a Graco carry cot but hardly used it even in the buggy. It was just a bit too bulky.

I think this could be what you need.

Infantino Travel Bed

Easy to fit under pram or can use to carry a few essentials so don't need a changing bag.

hi, we had a lillebaby for ds- the best best thing ever- it was the most used bit of baby kit and all my other mum friends used to ask me about it. It was great, he used to sleep in it out and about, then when we cam in house (or went into a playgroup etc) you could pick it up out of the pram. I sued to carry him out in teh garden with it, pop it in pram, do for walks. It was so snug he adored it (slept very well in it). Also used it as a play matt and cosy toes when he was older. Amyway am expecting no 2 and was toying with getting another one, emailed the company and they had this to say
Thank you for your interest in the Lillebaby Eurotote. There are no distributors in the U.K. at this time so you are able to purchase a Eurotote through us at Scandinavian Child, the North American distributor for Svan, Cariboo, lillebaby, Micralite and Beaba.

Please keep in mind that you will be responsible for all shipping costs. Also, please note that once the product has left North America, it will no longer be covered under the manufacturer's warranty and we cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged packages.

Please let us know how you would like to proceed.

Kindly,

Shannon

Thanks everyone

Good to hear your thoughts on the Lillebaby Hettie - i must say none of these, though lots of them are good, that one still leaps out because of the way you can carry the baby around as if in a bag, and also i suppose rock it to sleep if like dd the baby won't go down to sleep in an easy way. Trouble is it's laready quite pricey before shipping costs. Shame no one in the uk distributes it. seems odd really...

What about this one? Seems to do everything you want, I think, and folds up into a bag so you should be able to hang it of the buggy.

alittleteapot · 04/09/2009 20:39

looks great chaos, thanks - think that was the one mamadiva was talking about.

oh yes, ds was rocked to sleep often in the lillebaby, twas very useful..... actualy shipping costs not always that bad there are several quite competitive carriers...... import tax can be a killer but I think if it's stated as a gift this doesn't apply?

alittleteapot · 06/09/2009 21:31

Think I'm unable to resist the Eurotote. It's just that none of the options tuck under your arm like a bag in the same way. I just think it will be perfect for my needs as the baby trails around with me and toddler. Have emailed them to try and buy one. Thanks for all your suggestions.

you won't regret it- you're right there isn't anything quite like it.... (have often thought of being there UK on-line retailer, as I reckon they'd be very popular )

alittleteapot · 09/09/2009 14:46

Hettie, do you have a direct email for Shannon who contacted you from Scandinavian Child? They haven't got back to me from my general enquiry and I'm getting impatient!
