DD is massively into horses Cod and has been since she was about 4. She also loves reading and there are loads of chapter books in a horsey series which would be lovely. Magic Pony is prob too young for her although this depends on her reading abilities.

Or even an Encyclopaedia of Horses and/or Care Book. DK do excellent books covering anatomy/care of etc

Failing that, ELC do playsets, and Grand Champions range in TRUS or CHestnut Ridge

I'd also agree with model ponies,dd (now 10) still plays with hers, the ELC ones are great, Julip are fantastic, but very expensive. Has she read the sophie in the saddle books by Dick king Smith ?

It's worth having a look at www.Robinsons-uk.com which is a catalogue for horse equipment etc and is quite reasonably priced as horsey retailers go. They do lots of gift items for children and also some nice fleeces, gloves, t shirts etc with cute 'cuddly ponies' designs on. If she is learning to ride then I'm sure a pair of proper riding gloves would be appreciated.

I can't do links I'm afraid but if I have got the address wrong just google Robinsons country leisure and you will find it. HTH.
