Has anyone given their child this Eye Q medicine, Fish oils etc, that has been recommended for out of control children.
Supposedly it helps with brain function.

funnily enough we have just started giving it to our 9 year old son - on his own suggestion. I told him about it in a vague sort of way and he wanted to see what would happen, so I bought some.

I have said that the effect on behavior and brain power are instant He is now religiously taking a tablet before he tackles his homework, or attends cubs (a behaviour blackspot in our week). If nothing else his own belief in the tablets might improve things. I'll let you know he we get on.

Yes I use Eye Q with my ds and have done for over a year now. I started using fish oils (Efalex initially) when ds went through a rought patch at nursery and I really dont know whether they actually work or not but he did appear to be better behaved but dont know whether that would have naturally happened. I continue to give it to him now as its supposed to be good for concentration (ie. school) and he doesnt eat much fish so I would say to you give it a go loads of people swear by the stuff - good luck

thanks for that message, lulu. I was thinking about giving the tablets to my 3.8 year old son, too, just to see what happens. However the chemist told me the tablets are not recommended for under 5s.

I give Eye Q to Ds (21 months) in his milk - Urgh, makes it taste awful all greasy and orange. yuck.

I give it for Excema, to 'oil him up' from the inside, which it has done and his excema (admitly it wasn't severe just a few small dryish patches) has cleared up. As to his brain function, I don't know as he's been taking it for so long.

It does contain all the things you should be getting from oily fish and that, which we don't have as we are not 'fishy' people IYSWIM.

Try it, it can't do any harm, it is expensive £9.99 for a bottle, but as you only use a teaspoon it lasts for ages.

Eye Q does come in liquid form which is alot easier to give to kids - its lemon/lime flavour and my ds accepts it quite well followed by a slug of juice.

I have started giving ds the liquid which he doesn't like, because it is oily, but as you have suggested, I give him a drink or something to eat to take it away.
I would be glad of your postings about it, I am giving it to him because his behaviour at home is getting more and more wild, although he is an angel at school.
