Toilet Training Seats?

Our toilet seat has just broken. Is it worth buying one with an integrated child seat like this

Ds is 20 months and shows no sign yet, but if we need to buy a new seat is this the way to go? Are they any good?

Right thats it! Sorry the link is supposed to take you to a page on the Mothercare site for a hardwood toilet seat which has a childs bit as well. If you put toilet (I Know!!) in the search box it will take you to a number of choices, the one I'm thinking of is the 'Toilet Training Seat'

if i was in your situation i probably would go for it. As your seat needs replacing anyway, although presumably you will eventually need to change back to a standard seat. We used the plastic trainer seats (£4.00 each) and had one in each toilet. They were good as ds1 never felt like he was going to slip into the toilet but I hated putting it in and out as ds1 always wanted to help and even though my toilets are cleaned regularly I always felt it wasn't the most hygenic way to do things - he would touch all manner of things before washing his hands. And I'm a bit of a clean/hygiene freak !

We got one of these recently and its great. I was just sick of the plastic seat sitting on the floor next to the loo all the time. Looked messy and I didn't like the kids handling it all the time. Now they go to the loo by themselves I worry they won't put it in properly or it will fall through if they get the angle wrong.

Anyway we needed a new seat for us so I decided to try on. Its excellent (even comes with plastic gloves to removing the old seat). Both of them (3 & 4.5) love and, can work it well and we've had no problems. Its much neater as well. A bit pricy but worth it in my opinion, expecially if you are going to get lots of use out of it.
