Teutonia Spirit S3 - accessories (footmuff) dilemma

Hi,
We have decided I want a Teutonia Spirit S3 for our November arrival. Since they take 8-10 weeks to order, we are going to order our choice of accessories at the same time as the pram.
This is where the dilemma begins.
We want to use it from birth - the shop say even though it's not a 100% fully flat recline (it's almost flat) that it's okay for newborns without the optional carrycot. Does any Teutonia owner have experience with using theirs for newborn without the carrycot?

Our list of accessories to order so far is:

  1. Tario car seat with base (as it meets more stringent safety regs than the UK standards)
  2. Nappy bag (mostly just because it clips nicely to the handlebars )
  3. Apron
  4. A footmuff - but which one!! They do a winter footmuff, a summer footmuff, all-round summer footmuff (with or without a fleece inlay), all-round combination footmuff, or even the vario-plus or soft carrycots convert into footmuffs!

Arrrgh, too many choices. If anyone has a Teutonia footmuff, some advice on which to get would be much appreciated before I go insane. Our closest stockist is an hours drive away, and although we've been there and tried out the pram, we stupidly didn't spend any time inspecting the array of accessories.

Is it worth ordering anything else while we are ordering a pile of things? Weather protector/sun set?

hi, got thisd from the ping pong site in germany where we ordered ours from. 886254cm folded.

www.pingpong-online.de/osc/product_info.php?cPath=376&products_id=3004

it is big but if i take one of the wheels off and remove the seat unti i could get it into a clio! i have a golf and it fits fine in there without taking anything off.

where are you? there is a list of suppliers on the website and with the euro exchange rate it is cheaper to buy from here atm.

HI
Just wondered what all you lovely people ended up thinking about the Teutonia S3. I have been researching it and i love the idea of it. I have been comparing it with the Slalom R, but for a number of reasons i think i prefer the S3. Our main use for it will be walking out with the dog, often on rugged ground. Since you've used it, would you say it meets this criteria?

Thanks

i love mine, still over 2 years later! am thinking of the double with carrycot in december as i like the idea of still being able to get out walking and have both facing me and new baby in a carrycot. i use it mainly in a park with a dirt path or on country roads. is good for both of these but not sand. if you are going to do more serious off roading a pram with no suspension might be better though.

Hello, it has been a while since anyone posted here but I am hoping someone can advise. I really want to get the Spirit S3 for number of reasons but they have now discontinued the Vario carrycot (why?!?!?) so I am deciding on what to do. I'm due in September therefore there will be lots of walking in winter and I am not sure if the soft carrycot would be sufficient even in these relatively mild English winters. I am not a huge fan of the Fashion carrycot in general as i think baby outgrowns it very quickly and it is pretty much useless then, while the soft carrycot can be used later as a footmuff. Would anyone be abe to advise? Many thanks

Hello! I am a fan of Teutonia as well and am planning to buy Teutonia Lambda for our new arrival in August. It is perfect for my husband and I as we are both very tall! I have exactly the same dilemma as eva00 - soft carrycot or hard one? Can anyone please advise! I have tried to find some constructive criticisms online as to what are the pros and cons, but no luck so far... My husband seems to think that the hard carrycot will be a waste of money. I prefer fashion hard carrycot as it seems sturdy and comfy for the baby, however I agree that it would be cheaper and more practical to go with the soft one since it converts into a foot muff later... Any suggestions? Please HELP!

Hello! I got some feedback from a site in the Czech Republic where Teutonias are very popular and the official distributor assured me that the Vario carry cot or the Fashion carry cot are probably the best option though he was pretty confident that the soft one would do as well in "mild English winters". The materials are waterproof and the lining shoud be warm enough. I think i will go with the Vario and order it online from the continent. I read on few websites that the Fashion carrycot is nice and handy (no need for Moses basket!) but if the baby is tall then he/she will outgrow it pretty quickly (3 months according to some!). I hope this helps a bit. We have definitely decided for Teutonia :)
