Baa Baa blackout blinds, or equivalent.

Has anyone got these? Do they really exclude all light? I'm getting desperate. The dcs have John Lewis blackout blinds and some curtains with blackout lining and are still waking at 5am (and refusing to go to sleep in the evening).

And has anyone seen anything similar but smaller, or know if they could be cut down in size successfully? I'm not sure what they're made of, and if it would fray. They're twice the size I need for the dcs' window.

And how easy are they to remove from windows? I can just imagine ds1 would pull it off.

Never heard of them thought you were stuttering I have ordinary Ikea blackout and it doesn't block out all the light but a lot of it.

Could it be something else waking dcs?

I got our from Ebay. It is a roller blind. Works a treat. It was not expensive and they cut them to any size.

The ones I had previous to these were hooked onto the back of the curtain and I used to find myself pinning them to the walls to keep the light out.

Oh Baa Baaa ones.

No never heard of them.

Just googled and seems they're for travel? Look good though as they fit snug. I don't think size will be a problem tbh?

I'm pretty sure it is the light. Ds2's cot is near the window (nowhere else it could go), and he wakes up the moment it starts to get light. Then he wails and wakes ds2.

We use a baabaa blind it is very good - it takes a bit of practise to figure out what is best for your window. In the other room we have just bought a cheap large blackout blind from Ikea and cut it off it's rail and it is fixed to the window frame with velcro - no light at all comes through, DD slept until 8 this morning.

I've got a baa baa blind. It sticks to the window with suction pads - still lets a bit of light in between the pads and often falls down. I've taped up black sugar paper and have also heard that foil is the best way to block out light. Might ruin your window frame with the tape...

Don't dcs just pull off velcro ones?

No she is still in her cot and hasn't worked out velcro yet.

I've gone with an Easyblind velcro kit in the end as it seemed more suited to the window size. It won't solve the evening problem (ds1 would tear it down the moment I left the room) but I can put it up once they're asleep and hope that helps with the early morning waking.

baa baa blinds seem to be working ok for us. We leave the suckers on the window and just put the blind up each night - it doesn't seem to fall down then.
