Question about ISOFIX - mamaspapas base/ maxi cosi seat?

I have a mamas and papas isofix base and infant car seat at the mo. If I want to have a maxi cosi 9kg+ car seat, do I need to buy another isofix base or not? How does that work?

Also, does anyone have any further advice on buying the second stage car seat?

Yes, you will need the Maxi Cosi Isofix base to go with a Maxi Cosi Cabriofix car seat. The M&P one won't fit.

Unfortunately, Neither of these bases work with a Group 1 (next stage) car seat. The Maxi Cosi PrioriFix and M&P Pro-Tec Isofix come with the Isofix fittings as a single unit (no separate base required). The only one I know of which uses one base for two different stage seats is Recaro. The Young Profi (Group 0+) and Young Expert Plus (Group 1) both fit on the same Isofix base.

Apologies, I misread your question. You are looking for advice on a Group 1 seat not another infant carrier for you existing M&P base.

What I posted still stands. If you are planning to stick with Isofix for the Group 1 seat then it will come as one unit (unless you go for Recaro) and is usually a bit more expensive. If you have Isofix in your car, then use it I say. A much stronger fit and no margin for error when fitting it, virtually impossible to get the fit wrong.
