Jane imo is quality brand. they are from barcelona, they used to be part of silver cross. i had a powertrack 360 here which we got when they very first came out in the uk about 5 1/2 yrs ago. we never had a problem with ours and had it up until a yr ago. the only thing that went wrong was the raincover split twice but we had it replaced for free.

having had many pushchairs i'd say don't get the pop i hated mine, i had two of the 2008 design and they didn't feel good to push at all. i think the jane looks the best to me.

We have the Jane Energy and we are very pleased with it. It isn't perfect, but it was the only one (as far as I could see) that fit our requirements:

  • Light as possible, given the other features we wanted.
  • Variable incline seat
  • Umbrella fold
  • Comfy
  • (and this is what set it apart) TALL handles (so I don't break my back!)

Nice also that it is higher off the ground. Braking mechanism is easy and good.

It is a good quality product and worked just right from the first moment.

We also own a Bugaboo Bee, now a little small for our toddler, and in some ways I can tell that Bugaboo is the big-boy-on-the-block. Jane's fabric isn't as nice; the manoeuvreability (sp?) isn't as awesome as with the Bee; the seat lowering mechanism is not like Star Trek. But still, it is all GOOD.

One design fault... the clip on the side that holds the buggy together when it is folded needs to be guided into place rather than going there naturally. Not a biggie for us at all, but it is a bit funny that they didn't just do it right.

So yes, we like it a lot. It is good and sturdy without being heavy. Has plenty of features useful for someone who uses their buggy a lot, but not overloaded with features so as to add extra weight. My DD sleeps very well in it (which will forever endear it to me!).

Happy shopping!

I've had a Jane Powertrack since June 2003 - as I'm a cm, it's been in almost constant use. Definitely five years of every day, or every week day using. It's a bit battered now, but still going strong with no significant problems. I'm the only person I know only to have ever bought one pram.
Very light, easy to steer, and I've taken it over very challenging terrain.

Loopymumsy, my front wheel wobbles too, if the nut holding on the wheel-fixing mechanism gets loose. You have to lift the plastic housing to get at the nut properly, but it really makes a difference. Might that help?

I have a Jane Carrera (sp?), mainly cos we had the layflat car seat and DD always woke when he transferred her, so felt we had no choice but to buy the wheels for it to fit onto!

I was less than impressed. We didn't use it much anyway (we did slings far more than buggies), it felt bendy and plastic-ey, a bit of the back chasis broke in the pouring rain and despite it being the most lightweight at the time, I found it large and cumbersome. Couldn't wait to get a Maclaren - tbh would have done it earlier if I wasn't being all precious about having DD facing backwards for as long as possible!

Having said that, I know people love their Slaloms and Powertwins. So maybe the key is getting the sturdier models.

I have a Maxi Cosi 3 wheeler and love it and it is now about 4 years old and going strong for DD 13 months. Very happy with it. I was given a Jane 3 wheeler powertrack I think, it's about the same age, very comfy and good looking, but having had exactly the same treatment as my Quinny, not in nearly as good nick tbh. That said it's lovely. I would invest in spare inner tubes/puncture kit though. My Quinny not a problem but the Jane has flat tyres constantly and is used over the same terrain. The tyres are just not as good. Love 3 wheelers though, easy to push with one hand and generous seats for the sproglets.

Of those 3 you've linked I would probably go for the Jane, but try it first. However I do have a Chicco London for the car. But hardly use it. I would go for a Maclaren for the money tbh!

Both my SIL had Janes and loved tham and had no probs - we have been passed down a powertwin for when no2 arrives shortly and it is still in good working order.

However, other friends that I know dont seem that impressed, I get the impression that their customer service is poor if you are unlucky enough to have a problem. But saying that some of the other manafactures (mamas & papas from my own expereince) are just as bad, But it is worth knowing.

I wanted to try out a powertwin as ours was still in SIL loft and had trouble finding a store that still stocked them - wondered if it was because of their customer service record or if other makes and styles are just more popular.

Out of those 3 - def the Jane

I bought a Jane Energy in April 2007 for my 10mo DS, it was literally flung in a skip and replaced whilst I was on holiday by the end of August.

One of the handles snapped away from the side of teh frame, the wheels would lock and unlock randomly, the brakes were the worst I have seen, half the seat broke so one side was stuck half reclined, the hood material stains at the slightest bit of rain and the raincover was shockingly bad oh and the folding catch was pants too!

I really would not recommend this pushchair to anyone, my friend had the Energy too (after I told her not to) and the handle done the same thing, it snapped away from te frame when she was crossing a road.

I used mine maybe 8 times as it was a 2nd buggy. I was wanred against buying it in my local pram shop, when I asked to order one they told me to go for a Maclaren as the Energy has a high rate of returns because of the wobbly handles and brake failure. I wish I'd listened I would have saved myself a lot of money!

I got a second hand Maclaren XT and loved it but the 2 handles were no use to me as my son likes to walk and hold my hand so we now have a Baby jogger city mini which is perfect!

But if it's out of those 3 I would say the multiway is about the best aslong as height is not an issue as it is quite low, perfect for me and I am 5ft 3 and it's not as compact as soem but definately better for walking with because of the wheels.
