Has anyone got one of those Take Off pushchairs that were on The Apprentice?

If so would be interested in your opinion, and to know how much you paid for one.

I need to swap my hefty M&P Pliko Pramette for a lighter stroller, something which will fit in my small boot. It is going to be my main pushchair, and although I liked the look of the Take Off I wondered if it was a bit lightweight/flimsy? Also, does it have anywhere to put a few bits of shopping?

this may help

I've got a Take Off. It was bought by my Mum at the Baby Show in Manchester last November.

I have back problems and severe SPD so for me it's a bit rickety and difficult to push but I think for anybody else, it'd be very easy to use.

You can hang shopping bags from the handles and also there is a space under the seat for a shopping net.

Compared to the bulky travel system pram/pushchair that I use all the time it does seem a bit lightweight but it's great for getting in and out of the car!

Looks a bugger to put up and down to me...

GypsyMoth · 21/05/2009 12:17

raincover?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 21/05/2009 12:17

It's sooo ugly. Go for a maclaren or silvercross pop.

KathyBrown · 21/05/2009 14:20

Mothercare are selling them, they look awful i'd say even a zapp was a better choice. Nobody would use one everyday surely ?

Katypeach · 21/05/2009 15:20

There isn't a raincover, or a foot muff. As far as I'm aware....

I got one for a solo trip I did with DS to Florida in December. At the time he was 10 mo. It DOES have a raincover - we didn't need it so I can't comment on its effectiveness. No foot muff. It is definitely not a stroller I'd want for everyday use but for our time in Florida it was perfect. It has a very slight recline - nowhere near flat and I don't think we ever used it - DS fell asleep in it a couple of times without. There is a feature that allows you to extend the seat bit out a couple extra inches which is nice. By far the reason I bought it was so that I could fit it in the overhead baggage compartment. It went in with no problems whatsoever. It folds/unfolds very, very easily. There's a little button and lever under the handle and it just sort of folds in on itself. To unfold it, you just click a switch at the side, give it a little shake and it unfolds itself. It takes longer to get it in its storage bag than to unfold/fold it. There is also a bumper bar that must be detached to fold it but it isn't a big deal to detach. I just lent mine to a friend going solo to Canada with her DS who's now about 9 mo.

Again, having said all that, I wouldn't want it for my primary stroller. We recently sold our Buzz and got a Baby Jogger City Mini which I love. Lightweight, exceedingly easy to fold and lots of extras available for purchase (which we did ).

out of interest, why wouldn't you want it as an everyday pushchair?

do you think it wouldn't stand up to everyday use?

or prefer other designs (if so, due to practiclity, or fashion (not meaning anyhting by that, but the Take Off does have a disinctive look))

beetlemum · 21/05/2009 18:03

what is a baby city jogger mini?

CarGirl · 21/05/2009 18:14

www.babyjogger.com/city_mini_lp.aspx

Doesn't fold small enough for airplane over locker but very light and will fit a 3-4 year old in the seat easily, very easy to push.

rubyslippers · 21/05/2009 21:14

thank you for the link

beetlemum · 22/05/2009 11:38

would the babyjogger fit in a mini or a beetle?
