Does anyone have a Micralite Fastfold?

What are your experiences of the above pushchair - we have a big 3 wheeler but it is too big and heavy to put in the car so am looking for something different. We do lots of walking both on and off road as we have a dog so the big back wheels appeal.

I've had one of these for about 3 months, got it to use on long train journeys and to take dd to and from nursery, and really like it.

Best things: folds up really easily and stands up by itself (handy), nice & light, big back wheels make it easy to bump up & down stairs (essential for us as have steps up to front door), can fold/unfold one-handed, fits our (Maxi Cosi) car seat so can take on weekend visits by train.

Less good things: shopping basket is small and has a strap across it which makes it difficult to get much into it, also front wheels have to be in the right position to fold up properly (which can be a pain). Ummm.. that's it really.

I hummmed and haahed about getting this for ages, was also considering Maclaren or Mamas & Papas Nipi - now really glad I opted for the Micralite.

Agree with Zinnia. Love mine though. Had our 2.5 years and is on second child now!

I do - love it. It's true that it doesn't recline very far, but DS1 coped in it from 5 months - 3 years and always slept fine.

The main plus is that it's incredibly light - you can pick it up and sling it into the car or bus with one hand. I really miss this feature now I have a Phil and Ted's which seems like a ton by comparison.

All in all I love it (there is a knack to folding it - you kind of have to drag it backwards to align the wheels right).

The only thing I would say for your circs is that it is not brilliant for serious off road as the small front wheels can't cope with very rough terrain, you have to roll it back onto the back wheels and just use those, which is fine for short distances but hard work for longer. You can get it with 4 big tyres but I am not sure if it would fold then - I presume you have to buy them as an extra and clip them on and off as the need arises.
