mosquito repellants & maternity jeans

I saw in Jojo maman baby catalogue a ladybird mosquito repellant which works by emitting a noise like a dragon fly (claims to be barely audible). It claims to keep mossies out of a 5m radius.

Has anyone got one/tried one?
How auduble is 'barely audible'.
Do they work?????

Also in same catalogue they had 'under bump' jeans. Has anyone tried these? Are they comfy? Can you wear them post-natally? Is there any real difference bwn these & an ordinary pair of low-cut hipster jeans that are everywhere now?

Any other recommendations for nice maternity jeans? I just dug mine out & they are so ugly & frumpy, I'm amazed a pair of jeans can be so frumpy, but they are & I'm not keen on the huge elastic panel which always seems to be on display!

Thaniks so much in advance

Bought one, never used it - apparently it eats batteries so best to use rechargeable ones. But who takes a battery recharger with them on holiday?

I need it for use at home, so that wouldn't be a problem, but I would like to know if they work before I get them!

No one else any knowledge of them?

C'mon you lot - & maternity jeans

hi there monkey - can't add anything of great use I'm afraid except that rumours have it that the sound emitting things are a load of rubbish but then I've never tried them so can't really say for sure. The chemical stuff really works though but not sure how good it is for you. Just a thought but if it's for the kids at night you could always try a mossie net - those really do work
Hope someone knows something about maternity jeans

I got panel-less maternity trousers from H&M which were pretty good value (trendy, cheap & cheerful but maybe not much lasting quality in them). Pumpkin Patch childrens wear has some maternity stuff which looks trendy-ish but I've not studied their range closely

Unfortunately Pumkin Patch don't do online ordering to the UK but you cansee their stuff on the New Zealand site. The jeans look OK to me. The UK site, here lets you find your nearest store.

Jo Jo Maman do some under bump jeans and blooming marvellous (I think. Although they're quite expensive. I got some mothercare boot cut ones recently and they fit fab and look very flattering actually!

Thanks more help please amyone.

We've got a king size bed & bunk beds for the kids, - dunno if I'll get a mossie net for a king size - I'm just a bit concerned because the pg thread said that mossie repellant is not good in pg, and we get inundated with the horrors in the summer & it's already getting hot. Don't know if those plug-in things would be ok to use or not, but don't relishh getting eaten alive.

I don't live in UK, we have an H&M here but they only had 2 types of jeans & one pair was just too short - village idiot effect, and the other pair was massively too long. Otherwise maternity clothes seem to be very hard to come by. Although this is my 3rd pg, I had to chuck out most of my maternity stuff - 2 pregnancies pretty much finished them off.

Thanks quackers - mil is coming on Friday - maybe she'll be able to bring me a couple of pairs over to try on?

I've never tried next direct - are thier sizes usually on the small or generous size?

If you are interested in natural alternatives to Mossie repellant then use the Lemon Balm ( actually anything lemon ) aromatherapy oil.
I take a large bottle of it on hols and wipe it on the windowsills and spray it on the sheets and around the room. It seems to work. I never get bitten inside the appartment / villa.

Trouble is - I go out for a meal - covered in hairspray and perfume - and get eaten alive
