If so, what would you recommend as a washable alternative please?

Yes, they did I have lots of washables all different types and they are all fab, all seem much of a muchness and I wouldn't be without them. I would probably say take your pick.

Havnt used sillicone ones but the washable ones are good. I got the the Avent ones in a pack for £4 something in boots but I pressume they are all the same.

sorry I meant to say there is 6 in the pack.

Thanks. Will give them a miss I think.

So you reckon any old washables? I've used Avent in the past but although I loved them in 99 out of 100 respects, they d'n'arf show through tops!

Ok I have a trick for minimising the giant boob circles advertising that u r still leaky

I use modified tshirt bras when I'm breastfeeding which are a bit padded, my current favourite is a Katie Price bra from asda to give u an idea of the sort of thing I mean. The padding that is already in the bra means the "circle" is less obvious all u need to do is either put a popper on the top strap to act as a drop cup ( and a bit of elastic to stop the strap from disapearing once u undo the popper) or butcher your old bras. I worked out that I have been breastfeeding for about 43months.( 3 dcs) With dc1 I used the "mothercare" type bras and became convinced that my boobs were going to end up like tennis balls in socks.

Thankfully I discovered that underwires are ok after all during breastfeeding, BUT!!!! You must have a proper fitting bra. There is a company online called figleaves that have a fitting section that tells you everything you need to know about getting as proper fit. I can't do links ATM because of a laptop problem but its v easy to find.

Also I suspect that my washable pads are a bit thinner than the avent ones. Ask your local washable nappy lady, they usually have a selection.

Hope that helps.
