I love mine. Is a fastfold (not a toro). My brother and SIL in Canada have bought the toro for the impending birth of their first child (having used mine with our kids when over here).

Don't know about Maxi cosi carseat but if you email them I think they'll get back quickly. Got a response in a day when I emailed them asking if they had a double in the pipeline (sadly not).

Folds up tall but thin (make sense?). About as tall as it is when unfolded but compact in other ways. Still takes up quite a lot of room in the boot if you have lots of other stuff to do.

Very easy to steer but also has steering lock if you have a cack-handed step mum who can't cope with it being "wiggly", like mine!

It is very light which is great if you go somewhere with lots of steps but you do have to get very adept at whipping bags off the handles before you take your child out!

And the fastfold only has two seat positions (I would change this if I could). Believe the toro has different positions.

Still love it though.

Oh, and I can do the one-handed fold. I think my brother and his wife have sorted it too but people who haven't had practice struggle!

hmmm.. I need it to not take up too much space in car. We have a good size boot but want something particularly for holidays when car will be full. Are you able to compare it to other buggies in terms of folded size. Sorry - probably impossible, will try and google. I did find out though that the toro fits a different car seat but the fastfold fits the maxi cosi.

First thought was the zapp but have had one before nad didn't particularly like it. I like the air tyres on the micralite.

We have a Focus. If you hold it horizontally (and straight) - it just goes in the boot opening. Then I tuck everything in behind it. I can probably fit enough for a weekend away with two dd's.

We do tend to take OH's merc if we go away. Easily fit a readybed, small travel cot, booster seat, micralite, small suitcase, box of nappy paraphernalia, cool bag, couple of other bags of stuff.

Any use? Afraid I don't know much about other pushchairs - love my micralite too much! But do have an attrocious double chariot too - now that IS huge!

Havent used mine for a long time (fastfold) but

loved it for use with maxi cosi - however you need the right model - mine is old style and doesnt have the pins to secure the connectors, so whilst I can still attach the car seat, the connectors flap about and its hard to do.

didnt love it for use with DS once he was big enough to be out of the carseat. Depends o the child I think. Hammock-style not for him - he wants to be bolt upright at all times.

Lovely to push - really light and easy.

Terrible if you have a load of shopping. It is light, so it tips. (but not unless you take out the child!)

Is quite small to fold, but big tyres take up a lot of space.

Matching footmuff is atrocious and I dont recommend it.

I will be getting it out again when DC2 comes along - but like I said for use with the car seat only.

I have a Toro, and it is compatible with the Maxi Cosi car seat, although I found the adaptors to clip the seat on/off a little stiff.

The Toro may not be a good choice for you, because whilst it folds up relatively flat, like the Fastfold, it is quite tall. It is also a bit prone to tip over if you have loads of weight on the handles, and take the child out first (but less of an issue if using the carrycot). We bought buggy weights to correct this problem, but then I figured that went against the reason for buying the pushchair in the first place - i.e. very lightweight!!

The seat has three positions, including fully reclined, and it is a more sturdy design than the Fastfold (but this makes it a bit bulkier). The footmuff on the Toro is excellent, and we haven't had to buy anything else to keep our baby's feet warm.

The main reason for choosing the Toro was the ease of putting up and down! I walked out of many baby shops in a mid-pregnancy huff because I could not get to grips with the mechanisms on a lot of pushchairs, or they were just too heavy to lift!

Thanks all - The Toro does sound good. However, I'm not sure I'll be able to swing it passed DH unless it compacted into a really small thing (we have an Audi A4 so not a tiny boot but he is somewhat obsessed with boot space for some reason). Will look at the Toro folded dimensions but the Fastfold doesn't seem to fold up much smaller than the pramette I have (and detest ). Maybe I'll have to go and have a look at one in a shop - it may just be the wheels that make the dimensions big.

I have both the fastfold and the toro.

Both fit the maxi cosi.

I didn't like the fastfold only because of the lack of recline and at 6 months DS didn't look that comfortable in it. Now he is a bit older it is fine.

I love the toro though it is much better than the fastfold becasue of the recline and much more comfortable for DS.

They both are long and narrow when folded, but don't take up that much room as you can fit things round them. We have put ours in my Mum's citroen saxo and ther eis still plenty of room for ohter stuff in the boot.

i had a toro but found that our ds was getting too big for it at only 18mnths. another thing i found was the handles are actually quite low (i'm 5'8) and although adjustable, once you adjust the handles outwards or upwards it is less compact when folded iyswim. i found my feet hit the back alot so had to put the handles outwards -generally it didn't suit us. we do alot of walking and although it has the big tyres i didn't find it steady enough so we sold it for a baby jogger 3 wheeler which has so much more room and ds climbs in and out of no problem. for around town we have a maclaren xt which i rate more than the toro.
