Have seen one in ELC and one in Boots. Does anyone have any recommendation for one of these or are they all much of a muchness?

Thanks.

We've got the ELC one and have been very happy with it.

chuckeyegg · 06/05/2009 09:55

I should perhaps say DS has been very happy with it.

Hehe, thanks chucky.

The only thing I've seen said about some of the "from 12 month" ones is that they tend to get unstable with larger children (maybe 2 1/2 and over, depending on your child).

DD got one of htese for her 2nd birthday - she's been on and off similar ones at toddler group since she was 1, and the angle of the legs make it extremely stable so should last a good few years.

I heard that that GALT one was good but they were out of stock when my mum wanted to order it for Christmas.

In the end she got one from Tesco direct (it says HEDSTROM on it).

Both DS love it (4.5 & 2.5).

I think it is bouncier and sturdier than the ELC one a friend has.

Ok, thanks. Sorry, should have said it's for DD's first birthday so the Galt one would be no good if it's from 3 years. Thanks though.

I can't see why that Galt one would be from 3 but anyway!

Ours is here I think tesco

I notice it also says 3 +

I have noticed that some under 2s can't seem to bounce (they don't know how to !).

DS2 was not quite 2 and took to it straight away and there is nothing which could hurt a lo.

chuckeyegg · 06/05/2009 12:59

This is the one DS has it seems very good. It probably wasn't as bouncy when we first got it. here

I did get a bit cynical about "not suitable for 0-3" signs when I saw a big one on a single piece, 12" diameter frizbee in Sainsbury's with the subscript "small parts - choking hazard"! My conclusion was that it costs money to get the toys tested so that they don't have to put on the warning and a lot of manufacturers just won't bother paying for the test. Doesn't make life easy for the concerned parent, really.

At the end of the day you need to get something you feel is suitable - happy shopping

chuckeyegg · 06/05/2009 13:12

We have a ball for DS that says not suitable for 0-3.

cornflakegirl · 06/05/2009 13:47

We bought DS a 3+ one (from Argos) when he was 18 months. It was absolutely fine. He's now nearly 4, and his bouncing is getting a bit vigorous for it.

cornflakegirl · 06/05/2009 13:49

We have this one.
